Delivery times?

Yes, they aren't taking orders now. mine was ordered nearly 10 months ago at this point. Explain to me how guys that ordered their cars well after me have already taken delivery, meanwhile I left wondering what the hell is going on with absolutely no answers from my local dealership? They are utterly useless.

There is no other way to explain it other than that something from your spec must be missing and they physically can't finish it. The world is crazy, manufacturers clearly expected things to get better by the end of the year and instead in July they got worse, much worse in fact.

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

That's my main issue, I wouldn't be so annoyed if they just straight up told me this, instead they've given me a number of delivery dates they've missed with no explanation. Even if they told me it'll 100% be here in November I wouldn't care. I'm totally in the dark at the minute. The car could appear next week, next month or next year. Of course it could be the local supplier that's utterly at fault here, unfortunately I've no way of finding out.

Hi,

I ordered my Octavia VRS iV in May and the dealer just called to say it's left the factory and is on it's way to the UK. Expected delivery in 4-5 weeks. Can't wait for it although having read all the comments about the Octavia MK 4 with regards to reliability and software issues I hope I am one of the lucky ones and get a car that has been updated.

Yeah it was an iV and was meant to be ready for 1st Sept. Was only told last week that it may be March 2022 so today's call surprised me.

Mine FINALLY arrived today.  An actual car.

Hi pal! Remember me?🤣

so so pleased to see this mate, what a wait, what a journey, but you’ve stuck it out.
hope the car is good to you and you have many months / years of happy motoring. 👍🏼💪🏼

Just jumping on this thread. Ordered a VRS Petrol Estate in July. Just had a call earlier to say going into build in week 42, but will then be waiting on a 'final' part due to semiconductor shortage. Don't know how long for. Meanwhile watching the value of my Superb going up!

Was told cars with auto boot are particularly impacted on delays.

Apparently at one point is was down as June '22!

I think with al, these stories going around it is no wonder people like us are p%^^},,< right off.mind a few good one in people getting delivery sooner then they were told only a week or so ago.the one about delays for cars with auto boots is stretching it a bit do you not think.?expecting a update tomorrow afternoon in which I get every Friday mind you it will be the same as last week.car due 5 November and with it getting closer it just maybe be right.it does not make any difference because we go on holiday 10 October until 5 December.i have borrowed my sons skoda superb and he has borrowed my wife's little Mini Cooper s .which I hate to driving it.suspension rock hard and a jolt every blood manholes or uneven ground.the only good thing you put you foot down and it flies.

HAHA!!!! Yes mate, kind words!

Did you cancel your order?  Tbh I cant fault Skoda UK, put me in a Passat for 7 weeks at no cost to me after I sold my Merc.

Car is great, only niggle is there is a puddle light missing from the build in the factory and the infotainment is slow to start up in a morning!

Got my RS IV monday this week :) It was ordered in week 20! And only one month delay to the original planned delivery. (Have been told I was lucky! 😅)

Which options did you ordered ?

Waiting for my VRS and Just been told that Skoda may start to change the specs of the cars, taking out standard features that are holding up production due to the parts shortage. Ordered mine in End of July and told should be ready end of December then after a couple of weeks it went to March next year.☹️Also Audi and VW are being prioritised over Skoda.

Love to know where these stories come from.the gossip mongers, start with a little chat and that get added on and it all builds up.i like to read about proper fact and not rumours that are way out.if you read about motor manufacturing industry .everybody is in the same boat.nobody can tell me that they are giving priority to vw and Audi cars over skoda and why would they do that for?

They are the premium brands in the group with similar parts. Only going if what Skoda dealer told me.

do you honestly think any skoda salesman would dare say this if it was true ,he would be getting his p45 in the morning.i know a few people who are having the same problem as us all on here.we are not the only ones who are suffering.why do you think the 2 hand business in cars is booming for? People are saying they know people who are getting more for there carsthen they paid for them 2 years ago.it is the whole car world not only skoda that are having problems.mind you skoda pr is a shambles and not fit for purpose.

Yea mate cancelled mine late April, and took a punt on Cupra. Delivered 5th July. Loving it so far, although my infotainment has the odd sleepy morning too. Glad you’re sorted and I’m sure your puddle light will get sorted soon enough. 👍🏼 0F0E46F8-DC7D-462A-A899-61FE2171A247.thumb.jpeg.3605f27145477cab0ad87638cc519017.jpeg

@Joss1733It is the VW Group, VW, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Porsche, Bugatti Bentley and the bikes and lorries etc.

Skoda sell just over 1 million vehicles globally at their best which is a 10th of what VW does.

So dealers need cars but there are not that many Skoda dealers.

VW sell as many Golf &  Polo in the UK in a year as all the Skoda models combined sell in the UK.

Lots are sold to VW Finance obviously so are first sold as Used cars to private owners at end of lease / contract.

Just wonder how many chips each model takes to build a car.whaich models take the most etc

Just saying chip doesn't really mean much these days. There are a lot of different integrated circuits in all kinds of shapes and sizes and they don't necessarily mean the same level of complexity and price. For example a computer processor or your phone soc (system on chip) is one massive integrated chip that is extremely advanced. But a car circuit might need a lot of simple logic gates or transistors which are also chips, but at this point people can make those in their garage. We don't actually know which type of chips are affecting cars the most.

Journalists say it can take "up to 1400 chips" to build a car of all varying shapes and sizes.
