Hey guys,

 

old member coming back for the first time in a few years - had a Mk 3 Octy VRS estate

 

have got a new Octavia on order - iV Hatch - SEL . Ordered end of Nov 21, with the plan delivery end of July. Just been notified by Skoda FS that i still dont have a build week.

 

I waited 9 months for a golf GTE to be delivered in 2018, reading the above posts i'm worried if im going to get the new Octavia at all!

Not sure anyone that ordered an Octy in November 2021 will have had any update on build dates yet.

 

I ordered mine in late November (vRS estate petrol) and get monthly emails from my dealer apologising for still having no updates from the factory.

Didn't they already say that new iV orders are coming in 2023 like at the earliest? Or was that someone just speculating.

Monthly emails ! How much did you tip them 😂

 

My dealer gives me 1 word replies to emails so I’ve stopped trying.

Q3 2023, but I thought that was for more recent orders (I could be wrong however).

You should be worried, very worried.

I contacted the dealer today first time after talking with them in december.

Back then he told me that the car should be done and delivered to them in the end of JAN / start of FEB.

Of course he never contacted me after that, so i called to see what he has to say...

His co-worker answered because he is sick(covid i think), and told me that Škoda changed the date and they never got the car 😅. He then looked at the dates and the new provisional date is week 19 2022(MAY)!

 

So yeah, i am waiting from APRIL 2021 and they still have no clue when will i get the car?!? If they continue with managing things like this i might get the car by the end of the year, or not get it at all since they can do that too?!? 🧐😅

8 months? I'm gonna speculate that might be on the optimistic side. I'm over 6 months and been told April is build date....

you ordered your car before me april 21.i ordered mine may 21 and have had many push backs and build dates and delivery dates.in the last 10 weeks delivery has been the same 04/03/22 but last week told car was built and delivery pushed back by 2 weeks until 18 march 22.this was dues to awaiting parts ,that they expected very shortly.so fingers crossed i just maybe going to get the car after all this time.

Where are you all ordering Octavias from?

I ordered mine 18th October 21 and received my RS on the 24th Jan 22

 

i can’t be the only lucky one..

Looks like lots of people ordered after july 2021 have picked the lucky draw and get their cars sooner than peoples ordered before it.

i ordered on 1 july and i am stiil have no date so yeah i guess you are correct hehe

Btw imagine this…I left a comment or let’s say the remark on one of the posts on škoda.slovenija instagram account about the delivery and it wasn’t nothing vulgar neither I was attacking…They wrote something like “embrace your new Skoda kamiq like your own one…bla bla bla” and I wrote “ I would very much but I’m waiting 8 months without the build date and not even talking about the delivery” 

So I expected someone will maybe get in touch with me at least with “oh I’m sorry contact our customer service” …or something… but no, they deleted my comment 🤣🤣 that’s how they manage the situation 🤷🏻‍♂️

There are few others waiting from August here too.  Don't forget, my coworker ordered 3 month after me and got it this week. All my options (-camera), same engine. He has also some additional options I don't have and it is a wagon.

 

They don't care man, Skoda just doesn't care. It's fine, they don't need to, but one day we won't care, when they will need us to care.

Yeah it is very clear they messed up big time, no excuses.

Just to add that I ordered a Skoda Octavia iV hybrid end of Sept 21 (SKODA OCTAVIA ESTATE 1.4 TSI iV SE Technology DSG 5dr). Still no build week....

 

The leasing company said: 

"I have also had a look through the other orders that we have on the Octavia hybrids but none of them are currently showing build weeks so I am unable to gauge when we might see some movement on your order."

 

I wonder if the Hybrids are still manufactured at all? 

it is only 9 weeks ago when i got a build date and i have just been told last friday it is built but awaiting parts.i ordered my car 21 may ,so i would not put to much faith in build dates.

For context I ordered a vRS back in July 2021. It transitioned to "accepted and on order with the factory" in August and has not changed in the six months since then.

 

I called the dealer earlier today (Skoda York, UK) and had a chat. He confirmed many of the things that have been discussed on this forum:

• The dealer receives no useful information from Skoda regarding the status of an order, especially before a build date has been provided
• Orders are fulfilled in a seemingly arbitrary way; he had an order for an Enyaq in November that has already been delivered, but many customers who ordered the same car earlier in the year have received no information at all
• Octavia vRS's seem to be more affected than other models

He said that the status of my order hasn't moved from "zero-zero" since August, which essentially means the dealer has no information from the factory.

 

He was happy to refund my deposit (£500) because of the amount of time I've been waiting with no information. He was very apologetic about the situation, but I explained that I'd been watching these forums and knew that the dealers weren't to blame.

 

Good luck to everyone waiting on cars, but this is the end of my Skoda journey for now.

 

Just to close this off for anyone that's interested, we picked up our nearly new Audi today after cancelling the vRS order. I think we made the right choice.

 

We've not really punished VAG for the terrible Skoda experience, but hey ho.

Well I'll have a wait. I ordered  a 245TSi VRS at the end of Jan. I was told then it should be July or Aug. At the time, the 5/6 months sounded reasonable as the Octavia I ordered for a family member back in Aug2021 arrived just after Christmas.

 

I was back at the dealer last week and half joking said "July which year?" and the answer was "Dont ask, just don't ask".

Cars to Britain take extra 2-3 weeks as need ship transfer so I think your dealers July or August guess will be nearer February 2023

 

 

 

@Hairy_Joe Congrats! With an order placed back in Aug'21 and delivery Dec.'22, you're close to the record holder of this topic ( @RsDub - if I'm not mistaking currently holding 1st place / ordered Oct.'21 - delivery Jan.'22). I ordered in Aug.'21 and I don't even have a provisional build estimation; really NO INFO!!!

If I'm allowed a bad joke: since you got your first Octavia in ~4 months, the "conservation laws" would imply that the second one will be delivered so late - such that the average of the two will be the average waiting time we all observed on this forum...
Kidding aside, your dealer might have been a bit too optimistic on your second order; but if you now add 1-3 months delay (caused by the fire @factory) you might get something closer to reality.

i agree with what you say,,i ordered my vrs estate diesel 200 in may 21,last update yesterday was delivery expected 18 /03/22.nothing confirmed so if i get it next month it will be around 10 months from ordering.i know the car is built but awaiting parts so just maybe i will get it next month.

That's madness - My replacement has already had its entire schedule submitted and amended to a month sooner than the dealer suggested and I only put the order in a month ago - i'll be getting a May 2022 delivery now. VAG need to get a rocket up their backside.

The dealer did tell me of one Skoda that was delivered in Jan just gone and it was ordered in November '21. I think the 4 and a half months for the relations Octavia is beaten by that.

 

I'm  wondering are different countries being prioritised at different rates? Maybe I'm just talking out my proverbial
