Anyone else ordered in the UK through Select car leasing?

Original order for an Octavia iV SE Tech was 7/10/2021, current date 30/09/2022 but not holding out much hope.

I suspect you have already worked it out, but if the estimate is last day of a quarter, it is just a random holding date.  People have even been given New Year’s Eve (31st December) as an arrival date.

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

Well, as far as i know there are no official information about facelift, so in my opinion all information regarding the facelift date are speculations. It would be funny, thought if they release facelift in 2023, honestly, i can't  imagine how can they manage production of new parts, without even bigger delays.  As situation is, in my opinion it would be clever to produce cars without facelift, but it is Skoda, so who knows.

At the moment if you order new octavia it would be facelift model. At least i think so. Delivery time estimates tell that new orders would be delivered q3/23 onwards. And that is the moment when first my24 models roll out from factory.

My order on dealers system says 23 for model and it should be manufactured next week.

Absolutely no facts but pure speculation. 😁

Hello ! Just added mine to the spreadsheet.

Ordered my VRS tdi estate Mid Dec 21 and initially told July by the leasing company, then quickly updated to 1/9/22. Latest update was 30/11/22

Here's hoping, but don't hold your breath!

Buying a car now from Skoda is like if you buy it without seeing it at all. When it arrives in 3-4 years - who knows how it would look like :D  Imagine it turns out to look like the previous one with the split headlight which was designed by Ray Charles, obviously 🤢

I’m not as I think there is more chance that f me winning the lottery than having the car delivered this year….

Went to try MB A class phev. Dealer said that A series is sold out for this model year. Expected delivery times for anything is about a year. This just proves that all makers are in the same boat :)

Not only Skoda, all manufacturers have issues, although they are managed differently. For example Audi was giving away "free options" to customers in US. Pack called for example "resignation from Android Auto" :)

Just few days ago there was news in Poland, that all orders from last few months for ICE cars with 7DCT gearbox from Kia and Hyundai are now cancelled, and it's probably not only in Poland.

Skoda was bad luck, as it was "hit" by door-card factory fire, on top of other issues everyone is having.

Was actually considering CLA before i got Octavia (those cars are surprisingly similar, so got much less expensive Skoda) and was told by dealer, that if i ordered in the beginning of June, car would be manufactured in August, as there were still free slots for ICE CLA.

So all depends on the model, engine, gearbox and options. Some will probably be made earlier, others much later.

Guys, today my daughter was born 😃, before Skoda was able to produce any info, let alone the car itself and I ordered the car in July. At least she was on time, so that is something :D

I believe congratulations are in order, welcome baby girl 🥳🥳

Let’s just hope you get your car before she blows the first candle 😉

Hi all,

I ordered an Octavia Estate SEL in July 2021, I've just had a call from the lease company to say it's been built and they've sent me the reg. They said the car may be in the UK by the end of the month but they don't know.

Does anybody know how long this part of the process may take?

I've been pretty relaxed about the whole thing until I got the call last week and now I can't wait

Cheers

I have no idea on vessel transit time, but I keep my fingers crossed you get it this month after a year long wait 😉

Congratulations! 🎊

My car was completed on the 28th and released, was at Emden 2 days later, on a ship to Grimsby yesterday and is now in Grimsby doc. Dealer says they now have 2 weeks to deliver to them In Sheffield. Could be sooner. So overall once built( which took 1 year) delivery is quite quick.

also now it’s in the UK if you enter your VIN in the MySkoda App, it will accept it and appear in your virtual Garage but you can’t activate until you get your hands on the keys.

its been a long wait for us all, hope you all get some positive news soon.

Different dealers work in slightly different ways.   They will have got a batch of registrations from DVLA licensing office, and at some stage will allocate (or give the customer the option to select from the list)

Most will do it when car is in UK, or at least on a ship to UK, but some wait until it arrives.   There is a balance, do it too early and might run out of registrations (or allocate it to a car that gets damaged in transit so needs rectification), do it late and then paperwork for everything that needs it (finance, customers insurance, customers parking permits etc) are all put in a rush to record it.
