Not sure about that, but I'm afraid that it means what most of us fear: incomplete production in March and sent to a parking lot waiting for the missing components.

Are you sure they cannot give you a status update? My dealer told me last week that she can see in their system if the car is sent to "banking" or not.

So just received a call from my dealer which I thought was to finalise collection tomorrow and it seems my car is still at the export port in Germany this is after sitting in the showroom last Wednesday and bing told it was in the UK and scheduled for delivery to the Dealer on Monday 18th.

I'm not sure what an earth is going on but clearly I won't be picking my new car up tomorrow.

I have asked twice after the news in March. No more information. No VIN either, I asked for it specifically.

They told you the car was in UK but today it’s in Germany? They can’t be serious…

Clearly just not being told the truth. 

Just waiting for some final lease papers to be sent through to my work. But should be delivered end of July. 
Got rather lucky as was a cancelled order that I managed to be there for at the right time.

Yeah I went to the dealer with my private reg documents and was there for over an hour while they checked and it wasn't just one guy involved so it all seemed good. When they told me it was already in the UK I almost couldn't believe it but clearly it wasn't so the jokes on me. How a company can have a £40k asset and not know where it is is beyond me. I just told the dealer to ring me when they actually have the car so we will see.

That's really odd, to say the least!
The only piece of info I ever got in 11 months, was the VIN of the car last week. She told me the car was still at the factory, complete production not yet confirmed, but she was convinced it's not going into "banking" - apparently they can see that in the system quite soon in the production process.

They didn’t know it for mine, went to production, we kept our fingers crossed but still went to the parking lot and it’s been there since April. First info was that it was missing the door panels, later infos were that it could be all sorts of stuff… I don’t have rear view camera nor Canton, but I do have dsg + blind spot detector. No news yet since April.

My car has its reg number! I guess that means its only a matter of logistics.

i got my vin and reg number last week so i was expecting the car this week.due to a balls up at there end.they said i had not completed paper work .so i sent them a copy and i got a sorry about that.so it is going to be next week some time.it is bad enough to wait for over 14 months and now a mix up with paperwork.from start to finish a complete shambles.

I'm curious if it's made a difference if you ordered with VWFS or from leasing companies.

Good news from VW though, parent's Golf R is at the UK port.

I wanted to give people hope, after nearly a year of waiting (order placed July 31st, 2021) I collected my Octavia VRS today. The car is worth the wait IMO, a lot more refined than the MK3.5 I traded in. Hang in there everyone.

Hanging.. Still hanging. Paid a visit to the dealer this week.. Unconfirmed build date is now end of November.. Expected delivery in December. Which makes it 1,5 years since the other 😞

Congrats man. Tnx for trying to give us hope, but at least for me, the hope was gone a long time ago and nothing can bring it back. 😵

I don’t yet know if my car was manufactured on week 28. I surely hope it was and delivery from factory to Finland doesn’t take months. 😛

I ordered my VRS TDI 4wd estate in may 21, so we're up to 14 months so far, and still no info whatsoever regarding a build date.

Just found another dealer last week that has 2 correctly specced cars that have been cancelled by the original buyers though, these are confirmed for production in august, so fingers crossed I'll get one of those when they arrive instead.  They were apparently originally ordered in feb 21.

at long last getting my car wednesday 27/07/2022. will not believe it until i have keys in my hands.just hoping the car has no bugs like a lot of guys/girls have had in the past.it will make my wait 21 may 2021 to 27 july 2022 14 months and one week.i know we all say never get another skoda but we all have short memories.good luck to you all and hope the people who have waited longer or around the same time as me get there cars soon.

that was the date i ordered my car with the same specs ,my was the 200 bhp model.in which i am getting next week.good luck

Have anyone had discussions with dealers about battery condition? For 12 and 400v in the phev model on the cars that are parked for who knows how long. 

 

I am personally worried how those are kept in charge. The 12v is rather small and good change it is running flat. Bad battery is many times a cause for weirdest electrical faults. 

 

Does anyone know if the car logs any values from the batteries and could those be retrieved somehow?

Got one on order through a hire company for work,  ordered march 2022    it says MY23   i presume  if all was normal!

it's not getting made until 2023? Just thinking of the facelift that's due out.
