Pre-FL MK2 Fabia interior upgrades

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm new here to this forum. I joined here since I bought my first car last september: a fantastic 2009 Fabia. I love it to bits but there are a few things which I'd like to upgrade.

- I'd love to swap out the Dance radio to an RNS310 Satnav unit
- Build in bluetooth
- Replace the steering wheel with a Facelift one with the controls on the wheels instead of the third paddle behind the wheel.

The thing is, I know these mods will work well with a Facelifted Fabia with the newer maxidot display. My car still has the old LCD. I am wondering if that also entails a difference in the computer itself. Another thing is, my fabia has the fabulously outdated caddy for a nokia built into the dashboard from factory, with all the built in features in the LCD. As funky as this feature is, it's pretty obsolete and I'd like to remove it. But i can't exactly imagine how that system could deal with a newer bluetooth module. Does anyone here have any idea whether any of my mods would even function? Thanks in advance!

A RNS 310 or 315 with "built in" bluetooth should work (note they don't all have bluetooth, check label shows a MAC address not 0's)........It just would not show info on maxidot etc as you dont have one, but the screen on the stereo would show the info.

Ah that's good news. I assume the volume adjustment on the steering wheel stalk communicates in the same way as the volume adjustment on the steering wheel itself on the Facelift models? And thanks for the tip on the MAC addresses, that's really helpful!
