Happy in general, but there are some issues.

App on phone is glitchy

Battery and fuel level indicatora sometimes blink like an old lightbulb

Keesy does not work when it's wet ( i found out it's all VAG auto problem when the handle is from two parts, the inner part is black)

Android auto connection does not work for me as it should (cable and wifi) apple car play works good.

For my type of every day commute it's very economical, i mostly drive electric. And if you want power just switch to sport mode.

In winter when it was - 15 electric range was like 20km due to climate control and battery being not so effective. Now the biggest number i've seen was 45km.

I would like to have service intervals based on petrol motor range, not total. Now it's 15.000km and they want to change the oil even if you drove half of that on electric.

Only 2000km done, will see how it goes.

Thank for the update Tomask,

Thats a really good point about the service intervals and never even thought about that before, my commute to work is only 17 miles on a round trip so will also be mainly driving electric.

I shall stick an update on here when mine arrives and let you know if I am having any of the same issues that you are.

Cheers.

Ordered an iV last week! The station wagon with the style package and a few other extras.

Planning to use it in electric mode only for my daily commute (25km per day, 30km at maximum), and hybrid mode on weekend family trips.

Hope to get it in May.

Yes same for me, to and from work in electric only and the local shops etc and hybrid on longer journeys.

I pick the car up on Friday so I will detail it fri/sat and get the ceramic coating on and then I will upload some pics on Sunday

Youll need to pardon my ignorance here. I thought these PHEVs worked by deciding for you, which mode to operate in depending on a whole raft of criteria? The option to be electric only or petrol only wasn’t possible? I’m thinking I may be wrong in my assumptions?

You are wrong there is an E mode button to select electric only and a Sport button which combines the petrol engine and electric motor for full power.

Nice!!

Interested in hearing from your feedback after a few days of use.
Both from the practical perspective, since we have the same use case, and in terms of issues. Reading a few posts here from the new Octavias is stating to have me worried! Hope it’s all sorted now!

Also, haven’t decided yet if I’m going to do detailing or ceramic coating.. or nothing. Still learning about all that...

We almost decided for the Superb iV last summer, but went with the new TDI Octavia... Reason: salesmen avoiding answers to how much cost to expect with batteries after 10 years (they should not answer in the way of "don't worry about that, you have 8 years warranty...") - finally got the word from Škoda service center that the replacement costs 13 k€...

@bmat  Skoda have no idea what batteries would cost to replace in a Skoda Hybrid in 10 years time.  They just picked a number, any number.

If they are going by how much they would be to replace now why would that be double or more what they cost to replace in a Prius Plug in hybrid? (I know that is not including fitting in the cost Toyota show.)  8 hours labour which is not what is required is under £1,000 in 2021.

I could imagine in there is the need for Skoda Dealerships to replace batteries under warranty the inflated cost will be quoted as what the bill will be.

This is the Skoda way even when replacing engines / gearboxes.   The cost is not a reflection of the cost of the parts to Skoda / VW Group that are supplying the parts.

With Batteries VW Group are not the manufacturer and as with other Hybrids & EV's the Battery replacement can be done by specialists as is being done now with some of the earliest EV's which are 10 years old now and getting improved technology installed.  More electric storage taking no more space.

The storage capacity/ size / amount of cells.   The price of batteries / cells are dropping.  But then maybe the prices will rise again within 10 years.  And maybe as the production of ICE vehicles comes to an end in less than 10 years the cost of driving the ones built in 2020 will increase greatly.  That might include the cost of running hybrids with ridiculously short range if run on the battery alone.

Wow look at how much more expensive the Prius Plug-in battery cost is than any of the others :nerd:

Can anyone explain that huge difference?

What I don't understand is why the Prius Plug-in needs so much bigger battery capacity/size/amount of cells than the normal Prius?
