Onto the steering column on the opposite side from where the key goes in, Lee, otherwise the volume twisty doodad is upside-down. I'm not quite sure if I'll use it as of yet, but it's a handy gadget to have.

I see :)

The Dacias in the family both have similar stalks on the same side as the key in a typical Renault-esque fashion. Our Duster is lethal though since it looks as if it has steering wheel audio controls but they're actually for the cruise control! :o

eek! :D

Aaaaaaaand it's back. £131 later for a track rod and tracking. Now goes in a straight line, bonus.   Thank **** for that.

Tidied the Fab up in prep for going away a few trips over the coming weeks. It's looking quite good for a nearly 17 year old car.           Oh, an

So, got the insurance sorted for the Fabia, so it's back on the road as of Tuesday.   In the meantime, it found itself a friend. Well chuffed with this Vectra, not sure if I'll make a projec

It's a... learning experience, to say the least. There's a reason I don't drive that Duster though (other than the fact I'm no longer covered on the policy), and that's probably it! :D

Haha :D

I was thinking of buying a Sandero but it seems that Haynes don't do a workshop manual for them, which kinda put me off a bit.

We've (my Granda) got a Sandero Stepway (2nd Generation, pre-FL on a 14 plate) with the 0.9 petrol engine. It's not a bad car besides some odd faults which I don't think are common. It can shift too, I reckon the diesel may be a better choice, if you do the mileage, that is. Otherwise I think there's a 1.2 petrol too. :)

There was never a Haynes workshop manual for the Grande Punto he had either, but it wasn't too bad to work on without it. I wouldn't buy one of those though, as they're aging they're developing more holes than swiss cheese underneath! :D

👍

I do very little miles each year, so a petrol suits me better :)

Ah yes. The 0.9 is probably a good choice. Think it's about £155 for road tax at the moment too, fuel economy isn't bad either. You'll feel a power boost between that an a 1.4 MPI though, I'll tell you that!

I used to go between my Fabia and my driving instructor's 130bhp turbo Fiesta and the power difference was often a little startling if I had driven the Fabia a lot in a run up to a lesson. :D

A mobility scooter is a power boost over a 1.4 MPI 😄

I think it was @HeavyMetalRich that had joked with me about ending up with the dash cup holder in my Fabia...

Erm, it happened...

How did you get your hands on one?

KeithCheetham had listed one in 'Free Stuff' so I sent him a PM, to at least get my foot in the door. :D

They are 1/87 scale in size, so just a little too small for my model railway (1/76, OO/HO scale to others)

Pet peeve sorry, but 1/76 scale is 00 (1/76 ground scale with an underscale 16.5mm track gauge, HO is 1/87 with the correct scale 16.5mm track gauge.

Thanks Ken, I could never tell the difference! :)

Fixed it. :D

There's one that can be 3D printed that @TMB sent me. I wonder if it would be possible to get the designs for it now?

I was looking more closeley at that. He only makes/made the replacement bits that hold the cup not the mechanism that makes it work that hides behind the dash.

That's gutting. We could do with a resident 3D printer/CAD geek on this forum for making these things. Not me sadly, I build computers - anything after that ain't my problem. :D

Arrived today, planning to fit tomorrow so I have somewhere to put the cases of the CDs in the changer. We move quickly in this part of the world... apparently. :D

I had been looking for one for ages. Then I slapped the part number in for one and it was coming from a VW Amarok allegedly. P/N matched, so just worked from there. :)

I just snagged the one from the mk1 lol

It must have had one on the drivers side too, because there was nothing there not even a blank when I got it.

Do you have the right spline bit to get the seat out?

Its a 12point bit to get the bolts for the seat out. I unbolted my seat and lifted it up so I could access the bottom of it to screw in the underseat storage.

Thanks! I'm going to get one from Halfords today since I've got some other bits to get. :)
