Debadge - rear options

Featured Replies

Thoughts please.

Not sure how many 280's there are in Ireland.

But have always liked a Sleeper look and the 4x4 badge seems a bit of a give away to me. (Ignore the 19" wheels)

So, 4x4 badge will be going.

But do I keep the Skoda and Superb ones?

Or make a nice clean ass?

I’ll be bringing mine in soon to strip and paint the callipers and prep and coat with a decent ceramic. I’m for removing all the rear badges and those terrible looking L&K badges on the front wings.

Thankfully I don't have the L&K badges.

Will have a good look at the rear when I get the car back and see.

I am presuming that they are just adhesive held and no locating pins.

Yep, that's the idea.

Have done it before, just wasn't on my original plan for the car :-)

My mate runs a body shop i am sure that's what they do but get some advice first, Good luck!

The bonnet and boot badge should have pins but the model badges shouldn’t. I’ve to get mine de-chromed first and then start the rest when I get it home again.

Although my car is an Octavia, not a Superb, I also like the sleeper look. So off for good came the "Skoda Octavia" badges. The "VRS" partly chrome badge came off, replaced with a black VRS one. The Skoda emblem in the centre of the boot lid was replaced with a colour matched and black one. The front of the car had the same chrome emblem replaced with a colour matched and black one, along with the VRS badge in black. Just thinking about the exhaust tips next, as I would also like them black.  All the badges came off easily. On my last Octavia VRS, I used an old bank card, edging it into the corner of the badge and working my way round. This time I used the old trick of flossing tape. Warming the badges first of course. Once the badges were off, to get the rest of the glue off the paintwork, I used a  product called  "Sticky Stuff Remover". Got the nice clean look now with less chrome. Chrome in my opinion belongs on classic cars.

Thank you paddywack1878, I think so too.  Now must think about those tips next.

Just make sure you don't floss your teeth  with the fishing line

Looks like my front wing L&K badges are trying to come off by themselves! The lower curly bit has come loose on one side so I'm now considering removing them as they keep getting caught on cloths when washing the car.

As for your rear end (so to speak), I think I favour some badging but not too much, to keep people guessing.

It's always a question of personal taste.

I full debadged the rear of my TDI190 4x4. Not a big fan of 4x4 badge in particular. I rather have clean appearance.

Only one tip: do what you like, not what others think! It's YOUR car... ;)

Clean looks for the win! Removed mine within the 1st week i think, full rear debadging of the 280/272 looks great imo. Skoda's "4x4" logo for the Haldex system is the worse choice within the group, much more suitable to a pick-up or off-road vehicle but out of place on a Superb.
As for the "Skoda Superb" model name, it does not mean anything special in my eyes either, to be worth staying on the car.

The fat dual mufflers that protrude slightly from the bottom of the car as well as the dual exhaust tips are still there to give an idea of what's under the bonnet for those in the know B)

Here's what to expect if yours is a hatch too:

Badges coming off will be the next job.

Cheers all.

Cacker colour ....mine is the same it has a green tint in it in sunlight

Took all ours off as they looked awful, including all the dreadful L&K’s. It took all of 5 mins and 10 mins more to remove the shadows.

Did mine not long after I got it. Would like black emblems but can't work out which I need.

Has anyone debadged the facelift superb? I'm thinking of removing the  S K O D A  letters from the back and whilst I have a fair idea of what it will look like I'm not 100% if I want to do it or not...
