How do I input the correct date on my Fabia 3?

Featured Replies

  Hello,

I hope this doesnt come across as a silly post but  I an not at all sure how to correct the date that comes up when  I first  get in the car.  On my  SEL that is before  I  use the push button to start the engine.  On mine it is a day ahead so its currently displaying 20th  April.   I cant find a reference to resetting the date, the time yet but not the date.  It might have been the case for a while,  I  dont pay that much attention to that initial display, the date doesnt crop up again after all until you switch off and switch on again.  I  think the date is part  of resetting the service indicator;is that correct?   If so its likely that my independent put the wrong date in when they reset the indicator last year. or, it could      maybe be related to 2020 being a leap year presumably?

If there really is a true"idiot guide"  to putting the correct date in that would be good,  I am always happy to expand my car knowledge!     Its not a huge problem of  course, I can leave it as it is and get my independent  to correct it when they service the car.

             Thanks for reading.

Thanks very much for that.  Unfortunately page 68 of my car handbook does not give that information and my infotainment handbook only goes up to page 59.  i went in via car and settings but couldnt find time and date. It seems weird but this morning when  I tried to do the date it read  today, April 20th. I came back to it this afternoon to try again  and it read April 21st, ie tomorrow.  Strange but as  it only comes on when  I  first get in , before I  even start the engine   I   will live with it until my independent services it and  I  will ask them  to sort it then.   I   do appreciate you taking the time to post to try to help.

Sounds like the time is making it jump a day.

ie when it’s 12 noon it’s thinking it’s 12 midnight so it’s moving into the next day prematurely. Be sure am/pm is set correct or use 24 hour clock settings.

also on my head unit time/date is changed though the ‘setup’ button on right hand side of screen.

How does your infotainment manual suggest you change the date and time then?

My handbook tells me how to set the time but not the date.  its the left hand button, one of two,  underneath the instrument panel.  The right hand button  resets the trip and the left hand does the clock. From memory, you press the button and hold it for a few seconds and the hour part starts flashing.  If you want to alter it now is the time and its the same with the minutes.  The  time is  easy to use.  I  didnt see a reference to  the date in either the handbook or the infotainment  manual.  To be honest  I never gave the date much thought at all until  I happened by chance to notice it when  I first got in the car yesterday before starting the engine. I  gave my independent a call and he is going to sort it when it gets serviced.  Thanks.
