Real MPG of the 1.0 TSI 110PS (manual)

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm looking into purchasing a Skoda Scala SE L 1.0 TSI 110PS (manual) with standard 17" alloys.  One thing I haven't been able to find that much data on is the real world MPG, just the odd claim here and there and they range from mid 40s to into the 50s for the MPG but often don't mention what type or style of driving.

So any owners out there I would love to know what you've been achieving with your Scala, with what engine and alloy/tyre sizes and the type of driving town, country, motorway, mixed ?  (relaxed or lunatic ? ha haa)

Many thanks,
Robert

I have an Octavia with the 1.0 litre engine and 16" standard tyres.  I do round town type mileage and get low 40mpg.  The Scala being that bit smaller, you should achieve mid 40mpg with similar type journeys.  The engine is nippy enough for me so will be fine in the Scala.

I have the SE with 115 engine, I think with the 16" wheels. On a long run motorways etc. I can get as high as 62.5mpg, shorter runs around town over 15 miles about 50-55mpg & and on my short trip to work 6 miles about 45-48mpg

Mine is a driving instructor car an even with learners driving I dont see less than 40mpg normally between 40 and 45 on lessons , did a long run yesterday on motorway and country roads and it was upto 58mpg

Hi Robert,

I've owned my Scala SEL 1.0 TSI 115PS 6G Manual for nearly 18 months now and just done over 10,000 miles.

I use the app Drivvo to calculate mpg per re-fuelling, as onboard readings are always a bit suspect.

My average over the last 18 months is 44.698 mpg

My best tank of fuel has been 51.2mpg and my worst 38.6mpg.

Also worth noting that I am on 18" Vega Alloys, and 4 months ago I had the ECU remapped with Racingline OEM+ software, reportedly upping power to 150PS and 239NM,  I have yet to get it on a Dyno for accurate readings but it definitely pulls better.  According to Drivvo data this has had no impact at all on my mpg, although I am now using Shell V-Power 99RON so that probably explains that.

Hope this helps.  It is a great car, and I couldn't be happier with mine.

Skoda Scala 1.0tsi (115ps) manual on a 73 plate.

Just returned from a holiday in Scotland travelling up from North Wales. The majority of the driving was the long motorway run up and back home at a steady 60 mph.

Taking the mileage at start and finish and dividing by the fuel used, I came to a figure of just over 61 mpg.

Given the size of the car and the relatively small engine, I was more than happy.

Hope this helps.

A family member acquired a 1.5 Monte Carlo a few weeks ago and now getting to know it.

Yesterday enjoyed a run to Manchester …..

Had my 71 plate car just over a month. Mix of lots of short trips (<3 miles) and some motorway work, usually at around 63mph (just fast enough to pass the HGVs) - I'm retired so rarely in a rush.

Relying on the trip computer, average over these weeks - around 1500 miles - has been about 53mpg.
