Did you try auto-unlock or manual-unlock of SFD?  OBD11 says it's done since November 9th:

https://obdeleven.com/fr/latest-news/post/45_sfd-unlocked-with-obdeleven-.html?page_type=post

Reports of people started tweaking mk4 are also here:

Hood is Open, ignition on, p brake on. And then i plug in ObdEleven, it connects and ask if i want to auto code control units.

Should I do that?

Sorry, not sure what to answer to that, I'd hate to give a wrong advice.

I'll have to wait several more months before I can test the procedure on my own Octavia.
Try surfing the web for a step-by-step guide, or pop the question on the other OBD11 topic, where they already played with mods.

Probably bugs that needs to be ironed out. I cannot test myself as my car is still on a piece of paper and not build yet 😕

True, it worked after some manual fiddling.

you can pretty much write all you want.

I've activated so many views but its like Skoda put a lock on the default user, everything is active but i still have only 3 dashboard layouts when there should be more than double that.

There have been many reports on briskoda of the OBDEleven apps making incorrect coding changes  - so I think it would be prudent to upgrade to the Pro version and manually make the required changes yourself.

Hi Dave, can you provide links please ?

I hope I haven't done any permanent damage 😬

They are in several forums e.g. Octavia 3, Ask A Tech, Diagnostics & VCDS, ....

I have OBDeleven Pro and have been able to change Lane Assist to "Last setting" I did this manually through the long coding so now one of the annoying pre-flight checks is eliminated !

Driver assistance (Module A5) this module is NOT protected by SFD so should be possible to change using any tool which supports long coding.

long coding

Configuration for lane departure warning KI15

change to "last setting"

Don't forget to open the bonnet otherwise you cannot save the setting.

The other setting I would like to change is the "Driving mode" to remember the last setting, despite extensive googling it does not seem to be possible, unless anybody knows different ?

As a comment about these settings always reverting to the default after engine restart, I read online that “Lane Assist” is to be installed on all new cars from 2022 and is a "safety" system, my experience of this is its fine on the motorway but on small twisty country roads it’s a dangerous nightmare which needs to be turned OFF, I fail to see that people trying to turn off Lane assist whilst driving can be classed as "safety" improvement.

The same goes for the "Driving mode" changing this requires even more button and touchscreen presses and requires taking your eyes off the road.

Bring back the system in older cars where the settings are remember, with my last Octavia I set the “Driving mode” to “Individual” once when I got the car and never touched it again, this new one I am doing it every restart and not always before driving off !

Does anyone know if driving profile can be saved by changing some coding?

In German group they say it's not possible yet. The same as for permanently disabling start/stop system

"The same as for permanently disabling start/stop system"

i m  really looking for that !

Yeah, me too. It's really annoying. Most annoying thing in the car.

I think mods like SS changed to "last setting", or driving mode changed to "last setting" are just a matter of time.
Let's not forget SFD was locked for OBDelleven until few days ago.

Also, it's a bit confusing for some people (me included) the fact that OBD11 tweaks can now be found on no less than 3 separate topics on this mk4 forum. Those could be easily merged...
@TheUltraRunner on a different forum, of my other car, we used to call the start-stop "the second button to push inside the car", first one being the engine start button. And yes, it used to be a dedicated physical button, no need to boot-up a computer for that... 🤕

Edited by SkOmk4

@SkOmk4 haha yes, it's the second button. 😁 Would be much tolerable if they would keep a physical button.

Hello,

I dont want to open new thread, but its not close related to coding.

I did unlock video in motion, but when I plug usb with some vides, than load them, the videos did not play, but i could hear the sound. Is there some specific format, resolution the screen can only view? I did few different formats, non of video was shown on display.

Did you drive while testing? Videos should only play when stationary.

Both of sotuation. Did not play

Probably codec and format related...

What was the codec used (H264, H265) and what was the video format (.avi, .mkv)?

I did try few of them, avi, mkv...all different formats

If it did not work with .mp4 then probably stil a security thing.

Hi,

I don't know if this is the same thing but mine defaults to audio screen, there is a 'tab' on the far left of the screen which I need to slide across to the right, this then shows the video playing.

Only way I can describe the 'tab' is like what you have on the home screen at the top of the screen, and you slide it down to view notifications and shortcuts etc.

someone asked for video on display. NO! its not mirroring bt aplication u can use has also mirroring . its called fermata auto . u can watch you tube , tv through mirroring. but there is  some steps before you can install this app on yours mobi. first of all u need to install king instaler then AAAD app, you can find it on net. after that try to find version fermata auto 1.8.7 and install with king instaler. You can easiliy find all tutorials on github.com

Android auto with new version has some restrictions so only way is install with king installer and if you want control through stering wheel there is fermata control. cheers.  it looks like pic down. hope admin  will allow this post . free vers of aaad will allow downloading only 2 app. aaad.thumb.jpg.800de9a5a8eba9d7f2811a22cce648eb.jpg

maybe you didnt noticed but you can change tachometer view .

Control unit 17 - Adaptations - tachometer end value - my first version ,default was  2 with end speed 260 now its version 6 , after you enter desired value press ignition off , ignition on and new version will be shown instantly
