Sounds like a lemon car,  unless you got it dirt cheap, if not then I’d ask for a full refund and go elsewhere, sorry.

Having said that you really need to get it scanned and see what the errors are, that many issues makes me think if it’s had a front end crash and maybe didn’t connect things back properly.

You should be able to look at the light cluster which isn’t working and see if everything is connected, as I believe the eyelash lights have their own connector (might be lying though)

It could also be the battery went completely flat and need codes clearing as I’m sure someone on here had loads of issues after changing the battery but they did clear eventually.

Hopefully it’s something simple as new battery + battery coding changed, but having been stung in the past before I’ll only ever get from proper dealerships now.

Reading your original post and this one has made me feel sick, so I hope you get to the bottom of it or full refund, but I suppose if you’ve bought the car expecting issues that’s okay, if not I’d get a refund

So... The saga

Makes me feel. Sad looking at this but here we go... Took to a trusted garage and had the codes read and cleared... All came back...

Possibly but some of those connectors look chewed.  Either way it's time to take it back and demand a refund

I suspect that is from a from a crash and I’m guessing non declared, is the car cat n at all?

I suppose rodents are a possibility with an awful repair job.

Personally I’d still take it back but after finding those dodgy repairs as long as you’re prepared to get everything repaired correctly and expect to find more things to fix then it’s still fixable.

Only you know which way you want to go, I just hope you didn’t pay too much for this car as “you’ve been had”

No its definitely a repair done on the cheap, those connectors have been plastic welded back together like Humpty Dumpty with a soldering iron.

I'm not proud to admit that I have decades of experience in piecing together pieces of shattered plastic rather than pay a fortune for new parts on my write off rebuilds because they have all been very new vehicles & pattern parts or breakers parts just were not available, however all the vehicles have been driven to destruction by myself and not sold on.

The Yeti Humpty Dumpty headlights were just to get an MOT to be legal to bring it to France where I bought new LHD units, the plastic grille slam panel looks like Frankensteins monster when you open the bonnet and the plastic (not) welding has recently cracked.

The loom wiring visible in the photos has been wrapped with adhesive insulation tape and not the non adhesive wiring loom tape or the correct fabric tape used on the OE loom, you can see one length looks much cleaner and shinier than those around it.

Cut it away and you will find all the bodged joints underneath, probably just twisted together, you can see one where it enters the connector.

Try and return the vehicle as those electrics will give you no end of continuing problems, if those are bodged what else is bodged, how significant was the damage, were any suspension components replaced?

Check the crash beam and radiators (aircon, water and intercooler) for having been replaced with either pattern or second hand parts.

J.R. has described in detail what i saw in the pics, thats why i said its not rodents.. If you can, take that car back, as it could be a never ending story if you try to fix it all up!

oh its definitly a crap repair whatever the inital cause...   i can see that!!

Well **** look at the state of that! Someone’s bodged that badly

Im going down the road of asking the garage what they're going to do to get this fixed, I've presented them with the issues and pictures less than 48 of having the car and I'm offering them the chance to respond one way or another. Seems fair. Just waiting to see what they come back with.

Garage took the car in on a px and by the seem havnt checked it over fully, seem like they assumed it was a clear mot so all fine kind of approach... Which we all know is not the right thing to assume.  No pics of damage or anything just a "looks OK to me attitude"

Seem to get he impression of that anyway with a text conversation

It was advertised up for 12995, I bargained them down to 12 before I'd even seen it asking them if it was worth my while coming up from South Wales to Manchester and they agreed

I took the car for a test drive and cruise wasn't even looked at, as the rev gauge sat at 6k and stuck, just the gauge, not the engine. The car was brought back and kept there until the Monday this week -15th-  I was then rung to say the ruage had probably lost its calibration after the battery had been left dead for a bit but was ok now. Picked up on Thursday and 48hrs later have this to show for my efforts

Gutted if I'm honest.

Still smarting from a recent sub-standard car purchase I used the 30 days consumer law and got a full refund. Give the dealer the photos for proof and declare it is not of mechantable quality and not fit for purpose. Put it all in writing so there is a trail, either by email or letter. It was my son's car bought on the Saturday and rejected on the Monday. Only 3 days ownership. I was told by my friendly mechanic always ask for an MOT even if there are months still remaining.

Have you done an HPI check on the vehicle?

Do you have the V5, did it have any notations like CAT C?

I have the old v5, and yes I knew it was a cat c, I had fine a hpi chrck prior to purchase make sure no outstanding finance.

Even so, nothing about any of the faults listed above, and even said on the add the repair done to a high quality (just a shame a have no pics of the original advert. It's was very quickly removed when the car was bought)

There was only one month remaining, so a new one was put on last Sunday. No advisories or anything... Which I wholeheartedly question at this point.

It’d be nice (for you) if they’ll have it back……….good luck.

I think I'll need it. 🤞

You got what you paid for if it was advertised as being a Cat C salvage that had been put back on the road.

Surely not though, even with it being a cat c, you wouldn't expect it to have more errors than you can shake a stick at if it's been repaired right, some of which has been a complete bodge.
