I could almost buy a £9.99 first aid kit from Lidl and call it a new hospital.

With that in mind, I could become Dr. Bartolo and live out some sort of bizarre 'Barber of Seville' life. :giggle:

<own_opinion> I don't want to get involved re: my two pence on incumbent PMs and surrounding parties as it causes the blood pressure to go through the ceiling. However, I do believe promises were definitely not kept. </own_opinion>

So the Boss is facing a 'Sleaze probe'.   As the Scottish Daily Express call it.

Earnings, money, gifts, 2nd, 3rd or 4th jobs who knows?

Sir Keir is a details person.   Forensic even.

So just an Administrative Error.  Fuddle not Fiddle.

that is what it is if a Socialist or Plastic Socialist.

The Question is always. If you can not run your Party,

or your office or your not a parties then how can you expect to run the country?

EDIT.

The "errors" are understood to relate to football tickets & book payments received by the Labour Leader which were declared late.

The man has had enough time at home isolating while family members might have had covid, can he not give some thought to his finances and declarations

just as much as to his Expenses claims.

When an 'Advance payment' on a book you are writing in your own free time most people might think on that each time they sit down to do a few more chapters.

Depends if they were declared later or declared after they realised they were getting caught.

Two very different scenarios. Both wrong, but one much more than the other.

I am sure however your point about the details person being able to do the details in opposition will raise a few eyebrows.

The important thing is would you vote for him or the tories again?

I have no choice but to, I consider it a duty to vote which people died for, I would not vote Labour if you put a gun to my head and any other choice is just a waste of vote, so what choice do I have? It's tragic and I have never felt this way in my life, he has betrayed every true Conservative. I have even given up my membership! Traitor, there is no other word for him.

Labour MP's and members of the Shadow Cabinet are right IMO to ignore the leader of the party and go see members of the RMT on picket lines and anyone taking strike action for the sake of them and their families.

No need really to worry about Sir Keir Rodney Starmer KCB QC MP as the plastic socialist could be gone before the last strike day this week if he is served with a FPN by Durham Police.

Investigation starts 6th May 2022 on 1 event in April 2021.

People there eventually received and have even returned questionnaires

http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61848134

Surely it can not be much longer before people at that event are told there will be no actions taken, or not for them but maybe for others and carry on as you were or if you are the Labour Leader or Deputy get on your bike and go get a job.

This is not a Boris Johnson thread… keep it on topic.

Maybe there should be one.

Not sure why all of my post was removed. The first part was relevant to Starmers investigation.

I'm not being political.

BUT when the leader of both parties looking for election state that "no rules were broken", who should we believe. At this time, I could not have a beer and curry with my family, let alone work collogues.

One rule for Boris and Kier and the WHITEHALL entourage?

At which time? The rules for the Christmas period in 2020 (partygate) and the rules for April 2021 (currygate) were different. There were also exceptions in place for those on the campaign trail in April 2021.

Personal post…

And are the police going after people like this too?

Or indeed a large chunk of the general public.

Maybe everyone calling for a pound of flesh should look in the mirror first.

He had a beer and a curry. I bet you most people know people who broke more rules than that. I can think of a few people around my neck of the woods that had regular multiple visitors.

Still when it comes to throwing stones/rotten veg people always forget their own faults…

Should we set up public institutions to go after these people and fine/re educate them all?

I for one am sick of the holier than though types going on about these things.

Well, yes, but the Bozo the Clown cabinet were the only people I know who made said rules and then broke them.

Those in glass houses…

Let those without sin…

My comments were about beergate, but apply equally, however this is not a Johnson thread so I don’t want to divert.

The country is full of hypocrites including many who influence the public…

Lets wait till Durham police give judgement, please. This could be the only country where the present and possibly next prime minister could be refused entry to some of UK colonies. I refer back to a comment ( reported to be)made by the late Prince Phillip by OZ immigration"Have you any criminal convictions" and his reply "is it compulsary".

A FPN in not a conviction or a recorded offence if the fine is paid within 28 days and not contested, then there could be a prosecution but then you would need to be convicted.

Agreed but I would change convicted to charged. The wording in Scottish law may differ.

That's in no way a dig at your comment by the way, George.

You are not guilty of anything because you are 'charged',  you would need to then be taken to a prosecution and be found guilty so then that would be a conviction.

I think we're on the same page, George just saying it in different ways.

You're charged by the police, taken to court, a judge and jury listen to the prosecution and you're then either found guilty and convicted and a sentence is given or found not guilty and case dismissed.

Or even in Scotland Not Proven.

But being charged of being suspected of having committing a crime or offence is done by the Police and then be it England / Wales where there might be no prosecution or Scotland where the Procurator Fiscal decides none then being Charged is a nothing.  It is just that, being charged.

Maybe @lol-lolis watching the market and if JRM & the new Chancellor and ex Chancellors are making another fortune trading today as Boris is being Boris.

EDIT.

Doh. sorry no idea why i posted that here.

But anyways, maybe relevant if the Leader of both parties are out on their ear and the UK and the economy is a bit uncertain.

Not too bad a day on the markets, FTSE 100 and 250 up a bit, GBP at 1.19 against the USD and EURO getting close to parity with USD.

Those with balanced portfolios ie Bonds / Gilts, international ones, give some protection when FTSE etc goes for a bit of a dive.

Plenty of us who "lost" tens or hundreds of thousands in Q1 and Q2 of this year, US stocks, NASDAQ took a hell of a beating first half of the year.

Should be much better in Q3 and Q4 of 2022.

Interesting that those with EVs and heat pump homes and devices are experience a fraction of the inflation that other are. Fuel card a nice perk too.

There is always money plans to work on in ups and down.  At least today is notable for the rise of start of playing NI to £12.57K, about time.

I will avoid the 3.25% NI level linked to the 40% PAYE and only pay the 13.25% linked to the 20% tax if I get my sums right ie divert the up to £40k in to salary sacrifice pension which is one of several key tax avoidance measures the Cons government continue to allow to survive, TVM.

The price of wealth is eternal tax avoidance.
