Amundsen retrofit

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm thinking about upgrading from 5Q0 035 842 A Bolero to 5Q0 035 874 C Amundsen in Octavia III 2015.

Does anyone have a list of parts needed for this retrofit (of course the display and the unit) but is there anything else needed to be replaced or fitted into the car?

Thanks

Unless the Amundsen has been hacked it will go into Component Protection which needs either a dealer or an independent with online access to the Skoda corporate servers to clear.

Yes, I know about this. Hacked units show errors so I want to remove CP legally.

I wonder if the unit will be compatible with the car or not. What will need to be done, whether the wiring is the same or will it be necessary to make some changes.

I also know that it will be necessary to code everything and make adaptations correctly.

If you're replacing a MIB2 Bolero with a MIB2 Amundsen (which is what those part numbers seem to be to me) then the only wiring change will be to add a GPS puck antenna as the Bolero has no GPS.

Talk to Pab, he is the guy.

He just fixed me up with an mib2 Amundsen, glove box unit, screen and usb port for Android auto and apple carplay.

I sent him a map file of my unit and he taylored it for my car (vrs logo...)

Parts number are

5Q0035874C

5E0919605M

5Q0035726J

You will also have to shave of foolproof on the usb and displays sockets but nothing hard, it's a 2mn job

Thank you. I will write him.

I have already retrofitted highline rear camera based on guides here so at least I little know how to disassemble everything 😀

Do I understand correctly that he can also give me the correct dataset for my car (correct logo, car image) ?

Yes, you have to extract the map of your unit with vcds, send it to him and he will take care of everything.

I am super happy with what he did for me
