Change Driving Mode Default Setting from Normal to Eco

Featured Replies

Is it possible to change the default Driving Mode from Normal to Eco? Was used to this in my Mk III

It's a pain to remember to manually reset to Eco every time I get in the car

Auto-Stop/Start only works in Eco Mode (if I've understood Manual correctly)

I do stick it in Sport on good country roads, but it's a waste, as is Normal Mode for day to day trundling & motorway driving

TIA

No, was changed few years ago, on start up always switches to normal

Blame Dieselgate, anything that affects emissions has been getting increasingly locked down.

Works in normal mode too, haven't tried the sport mode yet

Given my past experience of Eco mode and Normal mode on a MK3 diesel Leon (not the same car but same basic architecture). The Eco mode burnt more diesel than normal. I measured it across 2000km of driving in both modes doing my daily commute. I put it down to the Eco mode completely killing any performance so it had to be driven harder in Eco to get it moving.

Just done a 300 mile round trip. Normal 1 way, Eco back & Eco was about 2mpg worse so a bit inconclusive - both still over 60mpg though
