Hi i have a MK2 Octavia 2011 1.6 BSE engine.

 

I recently took the instrument cluster out because the lights for the rev needle was dead, I disconnect the battery, carefully swapped the smd led chips over, and fitted it back in the car, reconnected the battery, turned the ignition, the new lights work but I'm left with an error message on the screen.

 

I've done a scan and I got the code B200049 (faulty control module) I've spent the last few days checking the coding and adaptions, took it for a drive to see if it would re learn that it's ok.

 

I've checked the harness for corrosion it's all clean, and I undid all the loom tape and all the wires perfect with no splits or damage.

 

The gauges still work fine and the working lights all come on.

 

Is there something I could have done to damage it when dismantling and changing the lights.

 

I'm guessing I might need to replace the cluster if it is the module on the PCB that's failed.

 

I'm open for any suggestions as it's really confusing me now.
