lowering fab vrs?

Featured Replies

does anybody know the best combination for lowering the vrs? is it eibach springs and koni adjustables. i haven't made any enquiries yet, are these available for the fabia vrs? :drive:

It's a good setup (on my TDi) although the ride is firmer.

IIRC Ross has this setup on his RS

Yep, Ross (Techie) did change his suspension setup on his vrs.

He said it was much better.

Don't know if you'll be able to get hold of him though, he hasn't been around lately... :(

He's back!

The new and improved Ross is back ;)

Does anyone make coilovers for the Fabia VRS?

H&R, KW, Koni, FK etc?

they sure do! :D

KW do v1 and v2 coils, H&R do 2 types. Normal and ultra low. Ultra low requires new anti roll bar at the fromnt. (This is for standard Furby, not sure if it will be same for the vRS) and FK do some too. Bilstein also do the PSS9 coils, though are a bit pricey. Thinking of going for KW myself! ;)

p.s. Think I may have seen you at Inters. Mine was the Cayenne Fabia with the hooge zaust!

So, staying with the springs and shocks - Can anybody help me to find and buy stiffer lower springs for the Fab VRS? Eibach's list only shows one set of springs which fits all models from 1.2 upwards. Surely these aren't the ones for the VRS??

Don't call me Shirley joke?

Eibach do have specific springs for the Furby RS....you need to find someone with the latest catalogue. You can fit the TDi springs but they are a little soft and give the car a front down look. Maybe a good compromise if you want a bit more comfort as the RS springs are a lot stiffer, apparrently.

Check out the group buy sections for more details.

p.s are you still going to TRAX? If so please PM DaveU.

Hi guys, excellent feedback (as always)

Will be ordering today and fitting ASAP.

RE TRAX, YES> Hopefully you will have just received PM

Im tempted by either the FK konigsport coilovers, Eibach coilovers or the eibach/koni route.. not decided yet

Hi gang,

Just thought that I'd recount my adventures from sunday afternoon fitting the VRS lowering / stiffer springs to my Fab VRS.

Firstly the good stuff. The car sits about an inch lower, looks just right - not slammed ala max power :thumbdwn: , but looks good. Fells much better, roll in corners in greatly reduced as is dive on the brakes and "nose up" under hard acceleration. Very pleased. :)

However, fitting them was a real pain in the 4rse! Basically had to disconnect the entire lower arms at the front, brake callipers, anti roll bar links and so on. The angle needed to get the shock out from it's holder on the arm was huge and a real struggle. Even more so on the near side where the driveshaft is much shorter - in fact I really thought that it might pop out!!

Anyway, the springs are great. Not as good as replacing springs and shocks, but for now - pleased

I would recommend the VRS springs for the Fab VRS - it really sorts out the rolly polly handling that seems to be the only lasting problem with an otherwise superb (no pun intended) car
