Not on the 1.4 MPI, it's incredibly straightforward, just get 'er done.

I use ordinary water pump or gland nut pliers, works great

thenks tmb guess i got to work out how to slightly raise engine with trolley jack and bottle pumps lol.

I just jacked my engine under the sump with a block of wood on the jack. It's a pretty light engine.

Engine mounting bolts? Yeah, you're supposed to but I just reused mine and the engine hasn't fallen out yet 😁

Ok so pump finally arrived going to get it swapped out tomorrow just to confirm I only need to take out drivers side mount dont need to touch other ???

put on hold yesterday was way to cold lol so weekend now so can anyone explain how I use this to release the v belt tension please ???

There should be an oblong hole so that you can insert a ratchet or whatever suitable tool to be able to turn it to release the spring tension on the belt.

 

There is a screw (6mm Allen head) to remove inside the hole before doing this (see my next post).

Ah got you I had found the Allen head bolt but you've clarified it for me now surprised would have thought logically levering upwards not downwards would have loosened glad you put me straight thanks tmb 😀

and another job done just in time as got mot booked tomorrow lol thanks for all the advice as always see what she wants to break on me next haha.

They're good cars for surprise MOT fails and knowing when you've just been paid. Don't ask me how I know. :D

 

I'm ****ting bricks in anticipation for the next MOT. Good thing I know is that it won't be a structural rust issue, otherwise, your guess is as good as mine.
