I'm currently sailing around the Canaries. Lying on deck in the sunshine sipping an ice cold beer yesterday afternoon I was perusing the For Sale section of another forum I'm a member of. A Mk1 Fabia vRS at a very reasonable price caught my eye and after exchanging a couple of messages with the owner a deal was done. 

 

Please don't get the idea that I'm some kind of international playboy, I live a fairly humdrum existence in North Wales usually! I'll be picking up the car on my way home next week - really looking forward to it - something to ease the change from Canarian warmth and sunshine to the wet and cold of Snowdonia in February. 

 

Thanks to member @AnnoyingPentiumfor telling me about Briskoda - the car needs a new window module so I'll be in touch with @Breezy_Peteonce I have the VIN.

I'm not sure whether to be impressed, or disconcerted, that our Ryan tracked you down while on holiday.  His tentacles obviously have a long reach! 🤣

Finally collected this yesterday. The window module ordered from @Breezy_Petehas already arrived so that's a job for the weekend.

Perfect first drive home down the A5 from Shrewsbury to Bethesda. 

As I came down the valley towards Llyn Ogwen there was a bong and a warning flashed up on the dash. I pulled over and when I got out thought, "Ffwcin hell it's freezing!". Took me a few minutes to realise that the warning on the dash was because the outside temperature had dropped below 4 degrees! Not owned a car this 'modern' before! 

Still, the stop was an opportunity for some pictures and to pamper the pooch with a sausage roll for his good behaviour on the train today.

 

 

Nice, particularly like the last pic. Happy dog! 😁

 

Having said that, the other pics are pretty nice, good combo of beautiful scenery and car.

In my defence there wasn't much fuel in it when I'd picked it up so I'd been keeping an eye on the miles 'til tank empty which had been reading 40 so at first I didn't notice when the display changed to 4.0 (degrees)...
