Er, that's not an engine code. They are 3 or 4 letter codes.

He didn't say that it was Mr Grumpy, nor was he asked for an engine code, he responded accurately and concisely with the information requested of him - "please tell us which engine your car has"

Back to the question...

Does the wirring change with engine revs?

Do you get it with ignition on alone too, i.e. no engine running?

does it disappear when all electrics are off - radio, fan?

-Yes the wirring changes if i rev it goes faster

- Yes i do get it when i am standin by but with engine runing.

- It desappears when i turn the AC on (or maybe i cant hear it when the AC is on)

p.s. and thank you @26DIPP for really showing interest at my problem.

I had a whirring noise on my 1.6 TDI and it was the water pump getting ready to fail , when it did fail it nearly took out the cam belt

Does the noise come from one of the pullies that drive the alternator and AC compressor? If the AC is on there is a different load on the pullies and the noise disappears. Just a thought that one of the bearings might be on its way out.
