What size battery do need for the key?

May depend on the year. My 2021 car has 2032, but it is possible that they are 2025. The system seems to be sensitive to manufacturer, consensus is that Panasonic are likely to be the best choice, but I found them difficult to obtain.

I replaced the original Panasonic CR 2025 with a China made Energiser - no problems.

Plenty here in packs of 2, 4 or 6

I've bought both CR2025 ( in error ) and CR2032 from them. Quick (free) delivery and good use by date

Mine takes CR 2025s, and the type is printed inside the key itself.

It’s worth practicing opening the key 😀

Think they’re the same diameter but different thickness?

Correct, they're different thickness and capacity

As per the number, 2.5 mm as against 3.2mm.

I noted I changed mine in March 2018 and have just been (auto) advised to change it again... I have again used 2032 size.  Works fine
