Tail light condensation

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have noticed what I think is an excessive amount of water in the tail light. I also noticed today a few of the lights in the strip are out also. Can anyone advise if theirs looks similar and would this be covered under warranty?

Thanks in advance

No condensation in mine.

Condensation inside the light and/or any inoperative led's would mean a roadworthy test fail. I'd be lodging a warranty claim, for sure. At the very least it would be interesting to see how they attempt to wriggle out of it...

Thanks both, spoke to Skoda and booked the car in along with a software update to 1941. Looking online this should be a sealed unit that should last a considerable amount of time so i'm hoping they will replace it. I'm told they will charge me £150 to investigate and if its not covered under warranty I'll be charged for that!

No doubt, that's a clear warranty case if there's no sign of damage to the plastic.

No damage whatsoever. Fingers crossed it's replaced. Booked in for a couple of weeks time so will update with the outcome.

Mine was looking the same. It was changed under warranty.

Hello guys,

I have the same issue with Right Rear lamp, photo attached.

I've also had an warning on the VC in this morning related to "Faulty Lights!" that magically disappear after cycling the ignition.

I'm planning to open a new case with my dealer!

A bit disappointing

ive also suffered from condensation in the rear off side tail light.I sent photos of offending item to my dealer and they had it replaced under warranty on its first oil service.

HOWEVER 6 weeks on the same issue, mostly after a wash and it seems to go away a day or so later. Can I be bothered to keep going through the stress !"

Is there anywhere within the rear light housings that a small bag of silica gel could be placed without it being able to move around or be seen from outside? Just wondering if this would draw the moisture into it rather than it condensing on the inside surfaces?
