Feb 2023 VRS - Umbrella or not?

Featured Replies

999 calls go through any network, if you don't have signal on your own network it will just go through any network that there is a signal on.

No compact umbrella in our used Karoq which we bought last year; dealer sourced one but unfortunately it’s a little too big to fit in the compartment under the passengers seat that’s there for that specific purpose. At least we got our umbrella

Could I ask, did you get an engine cover with yours? My vRS is getting built in 2 weeks and Skoda Customer Services don't respond when I ask them.

Sorry, only just looked under the bonnet, and yes it has a plain black plastic engine cover @sandroalfagt

No brolly in my ‘one previous owner’ Estate. 🙁

As it was bought from a Skoda dealer and is under warranty, should I ask for one?

Just proved myself a liar. There’s one in the passenger door! 😆

My approved used 2022 vRS had no umbrella as the previous owner had kept it. I mentioned it to the sales chap and he put a new one in ready for collection day. I also then bought an “as new” condition Škoda one for £20 delivered from eBay to put in the passenger door so that there is one either side to use as required.

Sounds like you have the one for the door storage vehicles like the Octy and Superb which are larger than the under seat ones.

No, umbrella definitely intended to fit in drawer under passenger seat, must have been acquired by previous owner and only replacement that dealer could source was just a little too big.

What i'm saying though is that the dealer has sourced the wrong umbrella for you..... There are two different umbrellas with different part numbers. One is smaller in length and rounder and designed for cars that store the umbrella under the front passenger seat and the other is longer in length and flatter in shape to match the rectangular shape of the storage area in the door and is for cars that store the umbrella in the front doors. Notice they both have the same Skoda embossed handle but are totally different sizes and shapes to match the area they are stored in.

As can be seen by these photos...... The larger one is from my Octavia vRS (stored in the door) and the smaller one is from our Fabia (Stored under the seat).

So if you're saying the Skoda umbrella the dealer got for you is too long to fit in the storage area under the passenger seat I would say the dealer has sourced you the one from my Octy rather than the one we have in our Fabia.

Misread your earlier post; agreed, clearly he gave us the bigger brolly, still Significant Other is ok with it sitting in her door panel, easier to get to in a hurry apparently 🙄
