Park Assist not avalible

Featured Replies

Hey guys, tried to search for a topic, cant find any, so im starting new one.

My Octi sometimes behaves strange (mostly in cold weather?). On start, normal, when I first put it into reverse, camera pops on infotaiment, but car dings, beeps, shows warning triangle with park assist not avalible. If i leave it it will sometimes even show Park assist failure.(rare). Now funny thing, I just turn it off and back on, and everything works like normal. Then after few days again and so on.. Tried to connect it to read faults, not one gets stored. Tried to take it to skoda dealer for service, got it back in few days saying they cant replicate the problem. After more insisting, it was kept for few days more and they saw it eventualy. No faults recorded aswell. they took rear bumper off, check wires and sensors, all good. Chief mechanic even told me they tried to contact Skoda about it. Epilogue is that "Its software bug, keep an eye on updates, should be fixed by next one"

Anyone had similar issues? Im guessing if its software related, it would happen on more vehicles, yet i cant find any topics on net about it. Its not ground breaking, but anoying. I even had some ideas to ask for whole new wire loom while car is in warranty.

I get that on mine, but i put it down to the aftermarket reversing camera i fitted. But possibly not?

I've had this pop up on a brand new SEL iV but for front assist  - particularly in the cold weather, a few times. Initially says unavailable then goes away

Assuming this is due to ice on sensors?

That’ll be ice/frost on the camera at the top of the windscreen

I've had this, most irritating.

Got an update!

Been getting notification that there are updates available. Most annoying part is that it was per Murphys law always when i need car quick, or away from home. So being saturday, i sat in car in morning and waited for notification. It came, i clicked install and per request, left and locked car. In afternoon i got in, msg that updates were successful. Been driving almost whole afternoon with frequent stops, not once did i get that warning... I know update mentioned store and nav systems only, but could it have been a hotfix in the background aswell? Im hoping, yes.

I get that too and mainly when cold and rainy but am in Australia so don't get the cold snaps you guys do. Hope I get the hot fix too :)

I get this but I also lose all audio ( radio, navigation, hands free phone, hello Laura)  I think the primary fault for me  is an audio issue. No audio, no bleeps on parking assistance, so not available. Camera is ok.

I think I've got a genuine park assist fault this time (having had the intermittent one since I got my mk IV last year on and off).

Now I get the front sensors unavailable message pretty much all the time but it seems to "work" randomly for a few minutes at a time before breaking again.

Got it booked in with the main dealer in a couple of weeks for a warranty investigation.

Getting pretty fed up with the constant electrical gremlins tbh

From what i found out from poking several places, (ca with start button, but should work on key models too) after some reading, i found out that when you power on the car, main control module does checks for faults too soon, before PDC has time to boot up, so it gives an error like not working sub-system, maybe even missing sub-system. With this in mind i tried to just give it power to aux, press button without clutch or brake, so it only powers electronics for couple sec, in short untill gauge screen finishes its boot animation then start car. Been couple of  months since last PDC fail error.
