Featured Replies

The Columbus unit in my 2013 Superb - which I have had sincew new is reporting "No Network" when my phone has connected.

Any suggestions for diagnosis / fix will be gratefully received.

Thanks

I'm begining to suspect it is the phone. If I restart the phone with the Coulmbus unit up and running, the network will appear but I have also seen it disappear again, only to re-appear with another phone restart.

Given that the Columbus unit has never had a firmware update since installation but the phone (Samsung S21) has recently quite possibly since I last drove the car  / noticed the problem j'accuse the 'phone.

The reason it is telling me "No Network", is because there is no network. The 3G signal has been turned off around where I live and if I go somewhere it is still available the problem goes away.

I'm not even going to ask how much to replace the bit that will enable me to use 4G or 5G as it will probably be a significant proportion of the value of the car. :o(

There is no way of upgrading the Bluetooth module to connect to 4g or 5g network.

All is not lost however.

All you need to do is either untick premium Bluetooth in the cars MFD or untick SIM access on your phones Bluetooth settings and the car will just connect like a normal hands free and let the phone handle all of the connections, rather than taking over the SIM and using the cars external aerial as it would do in premium mode.
