Elroq: Who else has ordered?

Just wondered if anyone has solar panels? I have set my first scheduled charge this evening..fingers crossed it works..doing it via the onboard elroq charger and have disabled my pod-point charging scheduling....anyway back to the solar and noticed on the sub menus on the infotainment screen an option to charge via solar...i presume this means lowering the rate of charge from my pod-point home charger...this sounds excellent as my pod-point home charger is over 4 years old and is not solar compatible. I will test it out soon. Perhaps i have misunderstood this function but worth trying out.

Picked up my 85 edition on Thursday. Few issues with sorting handover, but now I have my hands on the car, I’m super impressed. Anyone still waiting won’t be disappointed. I’ve been through a variety of cars over the years, often Audis. This is the most refined car I’ve driven. So clever, so many features and so comfortable. Often electric cars have shoddy legroom and high floorpan in the rear. My daughter always prefers our 8 year old Yeti to my new cars, but actually loves the rear of the Elroq.

The driving assistance systems are very unobtrusive in my opinion. I’ve not felt the need to switch any off, despite living in countryside with narrow roads. I’m very happy with my purchase, despite not having seen the car before ordering!

Enjoy. Excellent car. I am still trying to work out how some features work. Will get there soon.

Has anyone been able to compare the seat height adjustment range of the standard (manual) vs electric seats in the Elroq?

My wife and I test drove yesterday. We currently have a Yeti which we both love and both drove a Karoq and Elroq. I loved the Elroq but my wife said that she thought the manual seats didn’t quite go high enough for her but the Karoq was perfect. It’s almost like it needed one more ‘ratchet’ up.

The dealer suggested the electric seats might go a bit higher but didn’t have any examples to test. It would be an expensive mistake to add as an option if it made no difference!

I did wonder if the Suite seats might be different too but the dealer suggested not.

Has the dealer no time scale for getting one in with electric seats?

Skoda UK might well get one along to them for you to try?

I take it it is a salesman that is just guessing.

One that never got to go to an actual Launch Day for the Elroq.

Thank you for the swift response!

The screen shot you provided above doesn't distinguish between manual and electric seats. Interesting though that they seem to show a wider range of adjustment than the Karoq - Min seat edge to ground - driver is 641mm and maximum is 684mm 🤷‍♂️

The Elroq isn't showing in the RIDC car database yet.

I'll ask them and see if they can get one. Looking at current 'stock' levels it doesn't seem like a 'popular' option.

@NigelL What does the good lady need, seat far forward and high, or back and high, and is she driving?

Sadly not showing yet in the RIDC.

As to seat height, of the base fully up or down, it is the Floor to base height that matters is it not.

Once in the car, driver or passenger.

Then as i know, it is how near the driver needs to the steering wheel / pedals controls when jacked up.

People maybe short of leg etc.

There is nothing to beat getting in and sitting, being a passenger or a driver.

There are also the seat fabric style. some seats you are more on top of than in.

The ground to top of sill or the top of sill to the floor is an important measurement for many.

Thanks.

She sits slightly forward and high. I wouldn't say very far forward but she likes the upright seating in the Yeti (and Karoq) and just felt that the manual seat in the Elroq didn't quite go up enough for her.

Interestingly in both our Yeti and the Karoq, we have (had) the drivers seat in almost the same position (front to back) but she raises the seat from where I have it.

I was asking what in particular gave her the impression that the Elroq didn't go quite high enough. She couldn't put her finger on it but I wonder if it might be the view of the bonnet. The side profile of the Karoq and Elroq bonnets are ever so slightly different. While the Karoq bonnet slopes down gently from the base of the windscreen, the Elroq one is slightly flatter as it leaves the windscreen before curving down. Perhaps that's giving her a different perspective.

More testing is required!

Not sure if it helps or not, but the one thing I do find that's different is the height of the floor. It is obviously higher because of the battery, but it means that your feet and knees are a bit higher in relation to your bum. We've had 2 Yeti's and a Karoq, and dont really see any difference in the seat height. In the Elroq, I have my seat all the way down and the steering wheel all the way up, but still have a job to get my knee under the steeing wheel when I get in. That, I believe, is the height of the floor. Once I'm in, I find it extremely comfortable. We have the Suite interior, but test drove one with Lodge and I don't recall it being any different. We have Electric seats in the Elroq and we had electric in the Karoq and the Yetis. The Boss has driven all 3 cars and hasn't mentioned that she finds any significant difference.

I've got the electric seats on my Elroq. We also have a yeti. Love the yeti ... seat height very comfortable in front and back. I've had Nissan Leaf before - the batteries on that mean the floor pan is so high, its impossible to sit comfortably in the back. Tried a Volvo C30 & my daughter said the same problem.

In the Elroq, I've not noticed an issue with seat height - I have the driver seat quite high - no issues with getting knees in - the seat moves back automatically - comfort access I think it's called.

Rear seats - daughter very happy. Very good legroom and floorpan not noticably in the way.

Whilst it's not replacing our Yeti, the Elroq will be the car we take on long journeys now. Very comfy.

picked mine up this morning. First impressions are very good.

Looks great!

Had mine delivered last Monday, but I’ve been so busy and then poorly that I’ve only really had chance to drive and give a proper clean today (it was delivered so was covered in dust by the time it arrived). Race Blue absolutely pops in the sun! First impressions generally good, but I find some of the safety systems quite intrusive so glad to be able to turn most off - not a problem limited to this car, I hasten to add!

That blue really does pop.

Agree, blue looks great. I’ve enjoyed cleaning my brilliant silver one today!

WRT the safety tech, I must admit I don’t find it too intrusive, where I have before - Nissan leaf for example. I’ve got it all switched on still.

Anyone got the free miles through yet? I’ve had my car over a week, but not received an update on it. Wonder what timescale to expect based on others experiences?

I picked my car up 15th March and ive heard nothing yet on the free miles

I emailed Customer Sevices at Skoda UK. They've passed on the query to the relevant department, so I'll give them a few days to see what they come up with.

Had an email from Skoda UK today with the code for my 2000 free miles. I've put it into Powerpass and it equates to £500 credit

Me too Bowdie!

Had front and rear dash cams fitted yesterday. Kenwood bundle with the DRV-A610W front + rear and hardwire kit. £237 for the hardware + £168 for fitting. Also got the all weather rubber floor mats which look pretty good quality plus front and rear mudflaps ( we needed these as we live in the country close to a dairy so roads are usually splattered with cow poop)(doesn't wash off easily once it's Sun dried)

They gave us a newish Kodiaq as a courtesy car.. That was a strange experience, I guess mainly because we're now used to driving electric. The delay you get with stop start seemed strange after the instant pull away with electric. A 1500cc petrol engine tryng shift a car that size through the countryside was less than exciting. It did have, hiding away in the glovebox, the wiper for the infotainment screen. but, unlike the up market version that TAP got from ebay, it was just a dry wiper without the spray.. I'd ordered from Ebay after TAPs advice and they turned up yesyterday.

Are the mudflaps specific to the Elroq or some generic ones? How do they look? Pictures would be appreciated.

They are Elroq specific. I haven't fitted them yet, but there's 4 holes in each flap, 2 holes line up with existing screws in the wheel arch and 2 holes that need to be drilled. They look to be a good fit, but I need to invest in a new trolley jack as the car's too heavy for the one i have, and you need to take the wheels off ☹️.

Pics when done please 😉
