Do all Karoqs have an electric boots?

Featured Replies

Some Karoqs are being advertised on Auto trader as Edition models but are clearly not.

You definitely have an SEL then but I suspect you missed out on the SEL Edition   - the link below is for an SEL edition so you can see some of the upgrades - page 3 of inerior photos show interior boot release and page 9 shows the ACC  distance -/+ controls

Black SKODA Karoq 1.5 TSI ACT SE L Edition Euro 6 (s/s) 5dr for sale for £32,490 in Norwich, Norfolk

This must be the reason for the boot then. Thanks for confirming this for me.

if you refresh my earlier post I later added the following "page 15 shows the open/close button on rear hatch" - suppose we all should have mentioned that earlier!

Thank you I’ll take a look.

It was built in 2024 but registered in 2025.

I would guess it was one of the last pre-edition models. AFAIK the edition models started being built araound Oct 24.

My SEL was built in Aug and is certainly pre-edition so doesnt have electric tailgate or ACC. Not sure I'd want elec tailgate anyway seeing some of the problems reported on here with wires breaking!

Sounds like we have the same car, which infotainment system do you have? Amundsen or Columbus? I’ve trying to find out which I have because I’m sure I heard the SE L has the Columbus, I measured it corner to corner thinking i could determine what car I have, but it’s not measuring up the right size for a Columbus unless I’m measuring it wrong 😂 thanks.

The Edition version has the Columbus , the standard SEL ( like mine ) has the Admunsen . I'm not sure there's much difference other than a slightly larger screen. I use Waze on mine via wireless Android Auto ( the built in satnav is awful ) and I find it perfectly adequate.

The SEL has the Amundsen (rotary knobs), the SEL edition has Columbus (no rotary knobs)

Ah I see, thanks for your help.

Thanks.

If you have set up the Skoda App then you can download the digital certificate. This has the complete spec of the car and the service history. See example for my Karoq below.

On the above page the graph line is effectively shows the 'life' of my Karoq, with the milestone dates; it was built May/June 2023, PDI was 16th August 2023 as shown on Page 2 below, 26th March 2024 Regular service. This was the service carried out by Skoda dealer I purchased the car from.

Page below is the first page of the specification for my Karoq.

Thank you I’ll have a look at mine on the app.

This is mine, do you think it might be a glitch on the app as it’s saying SE edition instead of SE L? Everyone else on here seems to definitely think it’s an SE L, so I’m sure it’s just a glitch.

It would be interesting for you to check the following pages in the app

Look at standard equipment and then see if there have been any extra equipment to make it fit the spec of the SEL you ordered.

Looking at the timeline in your picture the car is an SE edition from it's build date estimate of Nov/Dec 2024

Does the specification on the certificate match your car?

I’ll have look to see if there are any differences, there was some problems last year I was supposed to get it a lot sooner but the salesman at Skoda told me it was something to do with the chip, I don’t know alot about cars, so I feel really out of my depth with it all. Some things add up and some things don’t I’m just hoping the app is a glitch.

New car orders are problematic when "NEW" models are coming out and customers place a factory order. The build date can be after the model ordered has stopped production.

My MIL once ordered a Peugeot automatic (cannot remember the model) when she collected it there was no gear stick or handbrake lever.

Gear lever was now a dial and the handbrake was a pull up switch compared to the car she sat in at the showroom.

Some Salesman are clueless

Just looked at the certificate for mine and it definitely says SEL. One other thing though, my cert is only 2 pages ?

There should be more than two pages, the first page with the VIN, Model and time line graph, Specification takes at least two pages and there should be another page with the service details for a new car that would be just the PDI info.

Can you get an indication of the build date - @Karoqdriver build date would appear to be Dec 2024,with the PDI in Jan 2025. The Model year says 2024 - I would have thought the Editions would be Model Year 2025

Regarding the Sat Nav - I may be in a minority of one but I like it (most of the time). Its major weakness is the entry of addresses and post codes. I enter all destinations via the Skoda App which uses Google Maps and download - quick and simple. The other minor irritation is the poor voice control - it allows you to say commands but you have no idea what the right command might, be its too difficult to try and work out what to say while concentrating on driving . Compared to Garmin which works off a pre-defined list of commands which it displays on the screen and are easy to remember. On the plus side I have the map displayed in the centre of the dash whilst driving and it will warn of delays or closures ahead even when not following a route.

Mine just shows the first page and the last (service details) page , no specification pages

Yes they seem to in the digital certificate apart from it saying without load through hatch but my does have an hatch behind the backrest of the middle seat.

Mine has 4 pages.

5 pages here, although the fifth page only covers 'extra equipment'
