Octavia Scout 2016 1.8 tsi 4x4 6 speed

Featured Replies

Recently got the car from my dad, has almost 200k km on the dash, besides the oil consumption problem and the haldex pump service that needs to be done, except basic maintenance, what are other things that may need a check up, and related to the 6 speed DSG in 2nd gear high rpm i hear a rattle, is this normal? or is it time to change the clutches?

And does the engine suffer from carbon build up or does it have a secondary set of injectors? Thx a lot

The 1.8tsi can be problematic.  If its been well maintained, you should be fine, but they have a habit of using oil.

Its worth piling your way through all (72 pages) of this posting on Briskoda about the 1.8TSI engine:

That's the Octavia II, with the 1.8TSI EA888 GEN2 not the Octavia 3 1.8TSI EA888 GEN3. Different engines, 3rd generation being revised and significantly updated.

@scout18 - Yes, it does have the secondary set of injectors (has both port and direct injection).
