Any suggestions for Windscreen washer jet replacement?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have got to replace one of the front windscreen washer jet for my Skoda Karoq 1.5 TSI 2020, so, any suggestions which make to buy?

Regarding this topic, does the original washer jets comes with heated feature? I won't bother much if they are not heated type.

Thanks.

Buy the ones from Skoda

Hi @sussamb ,

Thanks for your reply. I actually did some homework on the part not working, so, I took it off from the car and cleaned it with a pin and it seem to have been blocked with debris from a low washer fluid situation. Now, I put it back on to the car and works fine.

Anyways, I have a link to order the spare part from Skoda if anybody needs it:

How easy was it to remove? As the drivers side on my Karoq doesn’t deliver as much water as the passenger side - so would probably benefit with a clean.

Hi @thamestrader ,

It was quite easy job to do. Before cleaning it, I even swap driver side and passenger side to make sure the problem is with the washer jet, which eventually proved it was a problem with the passenger side.

Steps:

  1. Open the bonnet.

  2. Simply use your hand to remove the washer jet (use your fingers to pull out with little force, don't worry it doesn't break).

  3. they you need to turn 180 degree the washer jet, then, there's a small clip which connects the jet with the pipe, which needs to be turned about 90 degree and the washer jet will easily be disconnected. (I saw this in a Youtube video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xytmmAhUrHM )

    just follow the video.

  4. For cleaning you can use a straight tooth floss, bare wire, and you can blow air into the hole of the washer, it should be clear.

I read that the screen washers jets were fan nozzles as opposed to round nozzles - hence they are more prone to blocking up; I admit that I haven't actually looked to check this. For screen-washing fluid, I always use one designed for fan jets (not a cheapie!), and I mix this with 'de-ionised' water from the dehumidifier in the conservatory. We live in a hard-water area, so I wouldn't use tap water. I have never had any problem with blockages.
