These are Osram Bulbs. Thought They Were Good

Are they genuine Osram? Where did you get them from?

Very possibly NOT genuine. Are they made in China by any chance?

I installed Philips Ultinon W5W 4000k bulbs for my interior lights without issue. I did not buy them from Amazon!!

Yes, they are made in China

AFAIK genuine Osram vehicle lamps are made in Germany, highly likely that yours are counterfeit.

I believe Amazon has a policy against counterfeit products.

Reeks of quality....

No one has actually said why it’s happening -

The car wiring is designed for normal halogen bulbs. and so an amount of current leaks through all the time which but doesn’t affect the halogens as it gets blocked by the filament resistance in the bulb.

LEDs use a fraction of the power, With a fraction of resistance so then the current leaks through it illuminates the bulbs.

For them to work properly there needs to be a resistor pack built into the bulb strong enough to block that residual power flow. The ones you got don’t do this properly.

I installed these. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QJ2GPT4?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_15&th=1 I did buy from Amazon and got lucky, they go out completely. I did have some different ones in my boot lights which stayed on slightly and flattened the battery. Since been changed and all ok now. I have bought LED's from Amazon, sold as Phillips that have been absolute rubbish. It seems you pay your money and take your chance.

I had some cheap LED interior bulbs from Halfrauds but they either stayed slightly on or flickered when on, so I replaced them more expensive ones from Kopacek which are brighter, whiter and problem free.

Like I said you pay your money and take your chance, these in my interior lights have been in since 2022, no flickering or staying on. They are also daylight white and very bright. Kopacek do sell quality stuff though I have to agree, but postage has gone ridiculous now since brexit. When I recenly looked for some replacement bonnet dampers it was cheaper to post to Australia than the UK.

These folk might be worth a try:

They specialise in old car fittings but may have modern stuff as well. I've fitted LED's from them to my 1937 Morris 8 so I can see and be seen a bit better.
