I’ve had no issues with the auto hold since buying the car but suddenly the auto hold is not there and going to he car menu external there is no brakes option! How can I resolve this please?

I had (somehow) also disabled the Auto hold. It could be that you operated the manual switch in the centre console. That does switch it off 🤷‍♂️

Log in on your big screen.

On Vehicle settings Choose Car

When the car appears rotate until you see the option Brakes.

Tap on it the option to enable Auto hold will be there.

This works, I had the same issue about a week or so ago 👍

Hi jador. At the top of the infotainment screen on the right are several shortcut buttons that are always visible. You can customise these buttons. As you can see in blurry pic no 1, I have auto hold as a shortcut and it is highlighted green showing that it is active. By pressing it it turns white, deactivating the auto hold function. I find this useful at times especially in low speed, limited space manoeuvres . To edit the shortcuts do the following:

  1. Press and hold any icon in the shortcut bar, which will open the edit menu

  2. Select the functions you want then press finish.

    Hope this helps. See pics

Ps. Sorry. No pictures. I can't figure out how to reduce the size of my pic files so that they will upload 😬

Success. Found out how to resize my pics. 😁20260101_152917.jpg20260101_152930.jpg

@Stuartie

I’d not seen it done that way. Looks a bit easier that who I managed to do it.

With hindsight, it’s not switched odd since, so that’s almost 2 weeks and about 350 miles ago.

This leads me to believe that it was switched off by the driver (Me)😳 I’ll keep it in mind.

This morning whilst waiting to pick up SWMBO, I’d spent a few minutes going through the settings via the info screen, hadn’t noticed that. Sadly I didn’t pick up anything else that I might like to change/try out. Maybe after 6 weeks I have it set as I like it.

It’s not my first DSG so I’ve been very happy with the way that works from the beginning. I even remembered that when it switches itself off at traffic lights and junction, a gentle tap fires it up as the lights start to change or traffic clears and away I go with no delay at all.

Thanks everyone, I managed to find the screen to resolve this. In my car when looking at the “car-,external screen I hadn’t noticed there was an option to slide over to a second stream where the brake options were showing!

Appreciate all the advice!

There isn’t a button for this in the centre console like Octavia’s have?

Sadly no button in the centre consul. There’s only the manual handbrake there.

I found out you can put a shortcut onto the top of the info display. Still to make the change 🤷‍♂️
