I assume your recent service was an oil change - is that correct?

There are two servicing schedules, which require separate resets after completion -

• Oil service.

• Inspection.

It might be the garage forgot to reset the light. If so you are best returning to the garage that did the servicing work for you. They will be able to reset the light. 5 minute job.

I don't know if the service/inspection reset procedure is the same across all models - but the Mk3 uses a combination of pressing and holding the Odo trip button with ignition switch-on - then toggling the trip button.

Best to take it back to garage that did the servicing.

You have not said yet what service was done.

As I have said, oil service and inspection are separate.

If you’re not sure what was done, give the garage a visit and they will reset the light.

It’s straightforward to do yourself, but if you don’t know what’s been done, as above, it’s best to return to the garage.
