Starting on Monday, August 14, 2006, Škoda Auto's plant in Kvasiny is going to produce the Škoda Superb as modernised for the Model Year 2007 (MY2007). Offering enormously large interior space and equipped generously with a number of luxury-class items, the design of the four-door sedan Škoda Superb MY 2007 also includes numerous innovations and technical changes.

The most striking change that has been made to the outside design of the new Superb is a new radiator grill that is shaped to make its 3D design stand out and is set in a chrome-plated frame. As a completely new element, additional blinkers have been integrated into the vehicle's wing mirrors. Integrated in headlamps with clear glass covers, the front blinkers have been redesigned, too. Just like on the Roomster and the Octavia, the tail lights are C-shaped to give the vehicle's back a distinct character. On top of that, customers can choose from four brand new body colours: beige Cappuccino, green Olive, grey Anthracite and grey Satin (from November 2006).

The Superb MY 2007 also has a redesigned interior and a new dashboard configuration. The dashboard instruments are backlit with very gentle white light while their backgrounds, descriptions including numbers and the multi-function display are red, which is another innovation.

The existing equipment level portfolio (Classic, Comfort and Elegance) has been extended with Laurin & Klement, a new top equipment class that includes 17´´ polished-surface wheels, a double exhaust tip, gentle marks on the front bumpers , and more. The vehicle's interior includes leather-upholstered seats (Royalty), genuine-wood panelling (Prominent), sleek metal-finished frames on ventilation blowers and door handles (Etna Nero), etc. The standard equipment of this particular model includes a number of other attractive elements, too.

The Škoda Superb MY 2007 is available with four petrol and four diesel engines, with performance levels ranging from 85 kW to 142 kW (petrol engines) and from 77 kW to 120 kW, respectively (turbo diesel engines). The six-cylinder petrol engine 2.8 l and the turbo diesel V6 2,5 TDI are the absolute top, the four-cylinder 2.0 TDI PD (103 kW) that is offered with a diesel particulate filter as standard equipment is definitely an attractive offer, too.

if someone would like to move this to the news section because i tried to post and it wouldnt let me:(

Interior changes are excellent - prefer the old grille and lights though.

Apart from the rear light clusters, everything looks the same to me.

Inside and out:O

Very, Very Nice and with the depriciation, it won't be to long before I could get my hands on a used one. It's a shame the 2.8V6 is still top of the range, A Larger Audi Engine would have been nice, even If it didn't sell well, which the superb doesen't anyway, it would strenghen Skoda's reputation for quick cars and bring us closer to the Tudor concept that we all want:D

I hope this turns the Superbs fortunes around as they arn't selling too many:O

The new front is nice and smooth, I like it a lot! Wish the new rear light clusters had a more pronounced 'C' like the Octy II. Still, white lit dials may be cool, but if they switched the Climatronic, Stereo and all the buttons to white, it would be even better!

Also, I hope there are some nice trim options available instead of that shocking fake wood mess.

i think thats real wood, not fake anymore dont quote me on that lol

Outside looks better, but interior is a real let down and looks cheap and nasty imho :(

Chris

According to the press releases it is now real wood.

I do keep seeing more and more Superbs, and there's 3 Superb Taxis in my town now. It is fantastic value.

:iagree:

Not a massive difference is it? However, I prefer the new grill as it seems that the actual chrome section is less top heavy which is something I hate about the Superb, it looks like the same overall panel though so a full replacement could be on the cards for me. I prefer the new wood to my old fake wood but I would still prefer it to be the same brushed alluminium that is around the vents, or better still, the piano black from the edition 100. Anyone else think it is strange that this new facelift doesn't have sat nav!?

I'll take a V6 diesel L&K, please, in a nice dark metallic.

Phil

my bad:O forgot to put a photo with one with sat nav

Its just a facelift, new one is out next year iirc but nothing confirmed as yet.

I think the particulate filter idea will be short lived and the 2.0 8V PD wont live to long. I think they realised that the iron fillings used in the filter to combat the soot are actually worse for the enviroment than the soot. Not to mention you have to change the filter and refill the adative somewhere around 80k and the filter was about £400 last time I checked.

Doesn't really look any different to me, obviously there wont be a proper new Superb for some years then if there going to the trouble of facelifting the old one!

And what the hell's going on with that leopard skin dashboard!!

It just looks like a tarted up version of the old one if you ask me. I think they are just trying to get rid of old stock before the new MkII version comes on line, which from the look of the initial photo looks like a winner.

I'm not sure why they are bothering to facelift it. It would make sense to leave it as it is, and seriously get to work making Superb II or whatever they want to call it.

The Superb feels a bit old compared to the Octavia and the Roomster, and when the new Fabia comes it will feel crap.

Hopefully, the new Superb will be an all Skoda design and not borrowing chassis' from other models and extending it. I reckon by the time the new Fabia and Roomster are both out and settled in, if they where to launch a new Superb, if they got the spec, styling and prices right, it would sell an awful lot. Because people will have gotton over the badge, more and more people will turn to Skoda for their cars.

A 'facelift' is what it sound like, it is just little touches here and there nothing major!! We are just working on the facelift for the current Range Rover and with most 'facelift's' it's the lamps and bumpers that get some sutble changes.

Don't like the new rearlamps but having said that if we make them then I should be able to source some easily, don't notice any different on the headlamps as all? L-Y-K?

The wing mirrors are obviously carry over from the Passat (Not current Passat, one before) and the interior shows little different but I really don't feel that the steering wheel does the interior justice, it's too 'curved'!!

no im not keen on the rear lights they should of been led C clusters. and the headlamps havent changed, just like the fabia its just sublte changes to keep it updated passat wingmirrors yes, i do like the deeper grill tho it does make it more "3d" as they say

Mitch, well done finding that picture. Looks good!

OC-quattro: New Superb is based on Audi A6 platform.

L-Y-K: Enve was just a design study on the current model IIRC

I know what you guys mean about facelifting the current model. But given that they are sending a rehashed Superb to China as the new Passat, some tweaks were bound to happen. Do look the more subtle grill though.

Very timely - was just about to sign on dotted line for 2.5 Elegance. Dealer/broker is trying to find out full revised UK specs and UK launch date. Anyone got anymore on this please? I assume any new factory build will be the facelift version.

I think it looks ok, not sure about the wood trim tho, even if it is real. I have the fake wood on mine, and would have much preferred the 'Piano Black' as seen on the Edition 100.

The mirrors are ok, but that badging on the side wings, i wonder if that is actually plugged into the side repeater holes, rather than make a wing without the hole.

They're starting to update content on the skoda-auto.com site. This page mentions "The wide centre console already in the standard Classic version offers mechanical air-conditioning. The large display of the navigation system with TV tuner comfortably fits beside it."

Do they really mean TV in the sense you can watch tele whilst stationary? You'll see the L&K spec page has no content yet. Dealer tells me earliest for L&K is Nov.

Well I know that you can get the TV Tuner on the Sat Nav DX unit and 'make' it play when you are moving but obviously that's not legal.

I have been looking into getting a TV Tuner for some time but just not too sure when I would use it!?!?!
