3-door Fabia in the pipeline?

Featured Replies

On the auto express website there is an article stating a 3-door is due later this year. Can anyone shed any more light on this? Do you think it could come at the same time as a facelift?

Cheers, oh and Happy New Year :bdaysmile

When I was at my local dealer, his response to this question was 'nothing as of yet'. However if you want a Fabia vRS, there is about 7 unallocated ones in the whole of the UK (Well there was on Christmas Eve). If you want a factory ordered car, then expect to wait at least 3 months !!

That is the general opinion from dealers I think! I was told that there was no news on a 3dr as yet.

7 unallocated vRS's seems to be quite a high number from what some people have said, though the 3 month wait sounds about right! :tongue2:

Why would anyone want one? Having fewer doors just makes it harder for passengers to get in and out. I rarely carry rear passengers but I wouldn't choose a 2/3 door car unless it was a lot cheaper

Am I just being fick? :nerd:

The article said it would come in at about

The cheapest Fabia is somewhere around the

I must admit when I started looking at the vRS I idnt know much about the Fabia and didnt know at the time that a three door wasnt available.

I looked at the press releases and just thought it was a good looking car, wasnt until the SWMBO pointed out she approved as it was a 5 door (maternal thing I think) that it dawned on me.

A good sign I think that it looks good as a five door.

i think the vrs would look a lot more sporty in a 3dr. it would apeal to the younger generation more in a 3dr also. :pimp:

But would you want the Fabia vRS to become the new nova/corsa/saxo????

If that ever happened, then Skoda will have cracked the image problem.

Can just see it now, De-handled, 23in alloys, lowered 200mm, smoothed boot lid, spray painted interior, jap style bodykit all smoothed together, neons, powered by a 1.2 with twin 10inch exhaust on the front of "Crap Power"

Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

campaign to keep Skoda out of "Lax Power" anyone :D

Too little too late, there's already been an Octavia vRS in there, and a photoshopped version of a Fabia...

Rob.

The whole beauty about the Fab is the fact that it is an afforable 5-door motor - or 4 door if you have one like mine.

I think that they would be far better developing sporty and luxury versions based on the saloon - a sort of el-cheapo-scaled-down Bora.

off to buy a Lada! :D

Same here

joking aside though there are some people that don't require a 5dr, me for one. my back seats never get used on my job,(no cheap jokes) ok you might not want young nova boy bombing around giving us sensible lot a bad name but the skoda badge would be more accepted then, with the younger fraternity using them. iknow with speaking to a few fellows with so called street cred. they say it's a pity they don't make a 3dr. :smileypul

Sod the Fabia 3 door!!

what we want is a 3 door permament 4x4 Octy vRS :D

but failing that I think the fabia would look great as a 3 door.

howsabout a 3 door with the WRC bits on it :D

I think its the free insurance that sells cars to "Lax Power" kids hence the popularity of the SuckSo (sorry that should read Saxo)

An advantage of a three door Fabia would presumably be longer doors, which then would solve the problem of the wind blowing down your earhole when going along with the front window down.

This earhole blast, by the way, can be solved by opening the rear window on the same side a crack, but this is not so easy on new Fabias where they've dropped the rear electric windows (Skoda making a mistake doing this IMHO).

Don't, however, open the rear windows on their own if you value your eardrums - anyone else noticed this feature of the Fabia's aerodynamics and the pressure changes it causes in the cabin? (BTW My mates Golf does this with the sunroof open - VW group feature I suppose).

Cor, I wrote a lot for my first post on here! :-)

welcome Maff

I've noticed the whistling noise, which has increased today due to some temporary weight losing mods I've done. But TBH I'm a lazy sod and unless the noise is seriously bad, I just turn up the radio a bit and mosh to evanescence or whatever! :speaker: (also includes waving glow sticks about to various dance CDs too.) :dopey:

My God, I'm surprised I haven't been hunted down and killed on here taking into account the car I drive, and yes the free insurance was what sold it.

You are all really against the Saxo aren't you!? :ashamed:

On this point of a 3 door Fabia was raised to the guy at the Skoda stand at the Scottish Motor show who said there was no point just more part numbers etc. He said similar thinks about the Superb Estate IIRC and the fact that he had heard it might not be techinically possible. But he did say one of them would be nice!

Not too fussed about a 3 door, but I don't think the Fabia is due for a facelift yet. It still looks sharp compaired with the Fiesta and Corsa Wouldn't make sence to facelift a car just after the launch of a new model (vRS) Maybe a few years yet before a facelift but you never know....

Yes!!!

They are small, uncomfortable and dangerous to drive if you have bigger than size 9 feet ( the right foot either rubs against the wheel arch carpet or the brake pedal) and a lot of the drivers are a tw@ts who think they are the mutts nuts because they have a cheaper version of the pug 106 with go faster neons on it and Lexus lights. They spend more money than sense on a sound system that belongs in a decent sports car like a TVR or Porsche and they go friving up and down Southend sea front with their mates in their mums corsa and knackered fiestas/novas/escorts trying to look really cool but failing miserably.

But then again i am surrounded by them as i live in essex and i just don't like them (or the 106) as cars

LOL :D

where did you say you lived again? :/sharpens axe:/

I think its only cos you get a lot of bumfluff racers in them, there not a bad car and I know a couple of people who own them.

Yes!!!

I am allergic to Max Pooer types and Moped riders(I refuse to give them credibility by calling them scooters) and have stange compulsion to show them up in my Fabia vRS and cover them in diesel smoke(especially mopeds, i make sure the blackmobile is in full soot mode for them)

you fogot that both the 106 AND the Saxo are birds cars as they have feet small enough to drive them safely, i'm not even going to mention the prats with 1 litre cars and then spend more than the cars worth on the styling on both the interor and exterior because they can't afford the insueance of a larger engined or modded car (and even then the insurance is normally in thier mums name)

and I hate the Ford Ka(ck) as well with a similar passion.

and relax!!!
