max speed vRS

Featured Replies

was on a1 today with nothing infront of me for miles so i decided to see what my fab could do. 132mph! what has any one else reached?

That would be the A1 ring in Austria I presume ;)

providing this conv is based purely upon "test tracks" then I have done 140 mph indicated on speedo, less than that really though.

I find the Fabia vRS's official top speed accurate for standard cars, and tbh it doesnt really change by more than 5 mph if it's remapped, it just gets there quicker.

didn't think we had any test tracks over here long enough to test things like that... u enjoy your holiday abroad as well as the driving?

Mine went down by 5mph

mine wouldn't go above 110mph on the "Ring":(

Does anyone else seem to find they hit a wall at 110ish? It gets there quite quick but seems to struggle to go much faster!

Obviously not ACTUALLY hit a wall...

Mine was off the end of the clock on the A43 one early morning on the way back from work ;)

strictly off the public highway of course, I've seen a relatively easy 140 indicated, (GPS said it was about 129mph.... so seems Skoda may have got it right! ;) )... it may have gone faster , but I ran out of track...., and of course my car isn't modified due to the fact I want to keep my Warrenty... *Sharky ducks the comments of some members he may have met at meets when Skoda UK weren't listening..... *runs from bigbrother....

I got 124mph (GPS verified) until I hit Limp Mode!!

The car was still accelerating though, so I'd expect a genuine 130 or so to be achievable.

Nowthen.....where's that FMIC??

110mph (gps) then decided to slow down due a lorry appearing up front

Didnt seem to have much more in it probably would of climbed a few more mph but it would of been a long drag to get the other 20 to get up to the stated 130mph

Crikey! I have never driven that fast. I have been a passenger in a friends M3 when he was doing 125, I think I spent the whole experience screaming :o

140 indicated - once on the autobahn. Comfortable accelerates from 110-130 given enough road. Reaches 130 quick enough, as I found out on the airfield. The remap may not have given me a great top speed, but it definitely gets me there nice and promptly. (if a little cloudily)

I had mine in Germany 3 weeks ago and I saw 137 on the satnav on the very long downhill stretch of the A3 between Wurzburg and Munich. The speedo was wound all the way around to 150, but I have to be honest I bottled it after that, as I suddenly realised I hadn't checked my tyre pressures for about 2 weeks and the thought of a blow-out at those speeds was pretty horrid.

137mph.

140mph indicated in my Standard Fabia 100PD, downhill (not a cliff)

149 indicated in my 4x4 estate, about 139 actual on my gps i think. all this done on airfields and the like :)

Off the clock at 150 - TomTom said 144... Saying that, gradient was on my side

overtaking a 172 cleo on my private road going off the clock at 150 right on the redline before limp mode kicked in. this was on my way back from the leeds xcape meet with my space saver on!

GPS confirmed 132, standard unmolested car.

Slightly downhill on the continent.

tbh mate that is a very stupid thing to do, that means you were doing about 3xthe max speed rating of the wheel/tyre :nono:

Off the clock.. for several miles

When i let off the gas there was a nice plume of glowing "stuff" out the exhaust.. probably from one of the silencer boxes :D

not when the space saver is a steel wheel with a W speed rate tyre on. i had it checked out. all the fabia space savers are the same.
