max speed vRS

Featured Replies

well the other day I got the speedo to read 130mph on a nice Flat peice of Public Road

and 140mph down a hill

Undertaking Lorries at them speeds is quite interesting specially when a Octy II VRS is flashing away to try and get passed :D

(I think its the V Power Deisel I was using got me to these speeds

136mph, doesnt matter if i was going downhill, it still wouldnt manage another 1mph, gets up to that speed very easily though then just stops at 136mph!! Both the Fabias i've owned have done this?? No where near the red line btw

Mine won't go above 70mph, ever, honest.

( I might be lying)

Had mine off the speedo, but had just over 140 on the sat nav....in the Fabia of course.

Yes Will, holding me up like that you yellow car driving baffoon. :D

Re 50mph sticker on spare wheel - its a standard sticker to cover VAG in case they fit a directional tyre..

in case they fit a directional tyre..

A what?

Tyre designed to travel in one direction, so only speed rated for one side of the car in effect, due to tread pattern hth

A what?

A directional tyre!!

You deaf??

A directional tyre!!

You deaf??

thought the direction was only to do with how it directs the water on the road?

Done 128 on Road Angel not absolute max but I don't think there was a huge amount left.

A directional tyre!!

You deaf??

 First time I've laughed hard all day

A directional tyre!!

You deaf??

dont be nasty! :(

I dont know what it is

besides, even if I was deaf it doesn't affect my ability to read. and no matter how big you make the font

I still wont know what it means!

:P

I'm with you Loz

Re 50mph sticker on spare wheel - its a standard sticker to cover VAG in case they fit a directional tyre..

lol, reminds me of the other discussion on this, so why doesnt the Octavia have the same sticker on then?

thought the direction was only to do with how it directs the water on the road?

Nope, its also how its made.

186 MPH, but that was on the bike.....

Around 600mph

on a plane!:P

I once drove (on private road ofc.) a speedo indicated 130~mph.

Totally standard Fabia vRS

But mine goes well in excess of 110mph and reachess between 110-130mph as the speedo jumps up 20mph. It gets there fairly easily and doesn't take 10miles of road to achieve this. Could never tell you exactly how fast im going because at that speed i dont tend to spent much time loking at the speedo, but a passanger said its done over 130mph. But i guess the speedo is out by maybe 10% at those speeds.

Compared to most of my friends of my age group maxing out at 95-100mph im rather impressed. Dont usually need to go past 85mph but odd occasions of finding myself on private roads its always somthing which makes my e-penis bigger.

On a recent trip to Germany my dad was impressed with the time it took to go from 75mph to 110, after than its a bit slower but not alot. Hit 120mph very comfortably before he told me to ease off.

I have a 55plate 2006 reg'd fabia with the 'new' gear ratios.

s space saver wheel is one thats only about 3 inches wide and about a 15" diameter. a space saver is not a full size steel spare

space savers don't have W rated tyres.

186 MPH, but that was on the bike.....

!55 MPH on a yamaha thundercat and 175 with 2-tier tankbag and pair of expandable throwover panniers and tail-pack coming back from Spain on the blackbird while playing with a british Porshe 911 turbo, seeing as were playing the bike card!

I've had mine over 140mph (on the clocks), but at that speed you don't have a lot of time to look and see what speed you're doing!!!
