I'd spend the money on a downpipe though.

Eddy h does the trumpet bit come out at all as it's a bit tight behind there to get the spine's out

It just unclips.

I've just been on the blower to JBS, and they can get me the panel filter and Green tubing.

Before I ordered, I took a look under that big flap on the front of the car that hides all the dirty bits, and found that mine (with a standard airbox) is missing the connector that links the airbox to the inner wing, so it's sucking in hot engine bay air at the moment :(

Also, the sounder for the alarm is stuck right in front of/across the inlet into the airbox. And i mean "stuck". It's taped to the inner wing! That's a quality installation then ... :P

My question is this. If I fit the green ducting to the existing airbox (which I intend to smooth as best I can), will it be OK to just 'dangle' it down between the headlight and battery box, rather than connecting it to the lower grille? I live out in the sticks, and there's too great a risk of deep water to mount it too low. I assume I'll still get cooler air from behind the bumper than from within the engine bay?

If I do this early next week, I'll post pics of the inside of the airbox etc for others to see what needs to be done. :)

You won't get the full potential but it will be better than it was and work fine.

Sounds good to me.

Glad I didn't cough

Sorry if im being thick but i got lost aaaages ago....

My dilema is my cars totally stock with a dealer 12 month warrenty (which probably isnt worth the paper its written on...) which if possible, I dont wanna invalidate.

From what i've gathered, I should steer clear of ANY type of aftermarket dump valve and simply modify my standard airbox internals (with aftermarket panel filter??) and fit a cold air feed....thus resulting in a slightly louder noise and better response etc.

Impossible performance sell a cone air filter kit for around £150ish with a pipe that allows it to be mounted at the front, which sounds good too.

Im stuck with too many bleeding options!!

I've had my vrs for 6 months - seems standard but I am definitely getting the dump valve "whoosh" when chanding - any idea why?

Are you sure it's a woosh and not a flutter? If it's a flutter your DV is almost certainly knackered and you need a new one.

cos u got a d.v. but it s a recirc one so its quiet

eddy did you get my last p.m.

I get a very slight "whoosh" when the cars warming up changing at about 3500rpm but when it gets hot it pretty much dissapears

you can only really hear it in the car and it only when going slow the engine noise is to loud otherwise it's more of a tttsshh sound if i had describe it
