If I happen to pass, I'll be sure to take a pic and post it- not normally a fan of anthracite wheels, so will be interested to see...

I have my name on my dealers computer ;) he said they will be getting deffinate details, and will be able to order it in January... :)

Update concerned termination of Fabia I prodution, from VERY trusted source.

* Fabia RS ends on the end of March 2007

* Fabia II starts in middle of April 2007

* Fabia ends on the end of April 2007

* Fabia Combi ends on December 2007

* Fabia II Combi starts in the middle of January 2008

Have spoken to my dealer. The Race blue is going to happen. There will be 1000 cars with leather and a ID number on the dash. They dont know what other spec is going on it, how much it will be, if there will be a limited number to each dealer, first come first served or when they are going to be avalible to order.

But I am in negotiations to try and ensure that my name is on one of them. so heres hoping.

i thought the new fabia was going to be released on the 17th of jan? or was that the prievew date?

West End Skoda in Broxburn currently have in their showroom...

a Fabia vRS 'Dark' special edition (their own) which is Sprint Yellow, wheels have been redone anthracite, and it has a full black leather retrim.

The rear windows have been tinted, and it has aftermarket rear lights in black (the only bit i'm not taken with).

I'm sure it was an 06 and sitting at

I have my name down at two dealers, both have the same story, it can't be ordered yet, but will be out march/april time, so orders could be taken jan/feb time....

no more detailes than the blue colour and leather...... (hope they do more!)

now pig sick after just buying fab tdi estate cause i didnt like fab vrs colours :(

I know!

But I'm not telling.....:P

what do you know ants???

my local Skoda deal (Capitol in Newport) just admitted that it will be Race Blue, with leather and Xenons, but that's all they know

what are peoples thoughts on the price of this limited edition??

is it going to be retail plus the cost of the goodies ie

Car £12375

metalic paint £ 335

leather £ 1300

lights £ 500

Heated front seats £ 125

Cruise control £ 125

ESP £ 400

and anything else they feel the car might need

if so rough guess would make it over and around the £15,000

IMHO they won't cost it at more than 14K.

That would still make it cheaper than an equivalent Seat or VW.

It would still be 'affordable' at that price as well, bearing in mind that all of the extras are from the vag parts bin anyway.

And at 14K what else would you buy? Given the 'exclusivity' of a limited edition, and a car that you know and appreciate as well.

At that price I will buy one.

Anything more and I will consider a Polo.

But atm I need a sporty small diesel hatch, so what else fits the bill at that price?

A fiat grand punto sporting?

A fiat grand punto sporting?

Spec one up, then look at the price:eek:

The wife wouldn't have a Fiat anyway, although they are supposed to be ok, only time will tell.

A specced up Clio will cost at least 17K

the punto's only £12k though, and comes fully loaded with ESP ect... slightly better equiped than the fabia, and same price ;) dunno if it's break though, I've been driving through floods today, that could've killed the fiat! lol...

A fiat grand punto sporting?

I've test driven the Grande Punto Sporting, having bought a couple of the Multijet 90 Dynamic spec cars for my Company and was thinking of it, the Sporting, for myself. The car, price, style are all excellent but there are three problems to my mind;-

1. Throttle lag - a split second only but compared to a Fabia vRS which has (near) instant response; a disappointment

2. The handling is fine but the ride is quite jiggly, I think it is riding on soft springs with firm dampers (Fabia is medium for both?), and

3. It is THREE door ONLY; Fabia is, as we all know FIVE door. If you want a top spec 5 door Grande Punto you have to get the Lux spec Eleganza with only 120bhp, not 130bhp as in the sporting.

My guess on the price for the intended limited edition vRS -

hmmm... might be worth buying a "normal" one then, since the discounts are be more

Hey, having re-read this thread, are we perhaps all missing the point and assuming that the Limited Edition vRS will just be a classic ‘run-out’ end of model marketing special with a few goodies (Race Blue paint, Leather upholstery etc.) and ‘source’ are allowing this assumption to be continued.

What IF Skoda were to do the PROPER job and produce a Limited Edition (already rumoured to be only 1,000 examples with numbers plaques on the dash) in the Cup / FQ / Club Sport / Cupra mould?

VW have recently released a Cup version of the Polo on the continent with around 168/170bhp, 17” wheels etc to go with their Race series, SEAT have the new Leon Cupra and VW are doing a 240bhp Anniversary Golf Gti. So why can’t Skoda do something?

The specification should be quite simple to put together from the VAG parts bin and aftermarket with nothing too fancy or expensive and could make the PERFECT Fabia for road use (nothing too drastic that leans it to a track-day special or makes it too expensive). My proposed ingredients for the recipe would be;

Fabia vRS 1.9 Tdi PD 130

Power upgrade to 170bhp – simply done and ought not to compromise warranty

Cupra 160 air intake

Freeflow exhaust (with a bit of bark).

215mm front brake upgrade

Rear Anti-roll bar

Uprated shock absorbers – Eibach prokit / Bilstein / Koni FSD (keep standard springs)

Wider 7J-7.5J, but still 16”, lightweight wheels OZ / Speedline / Compomotive

215/40 tyres – Michelin Sport Cup

Recaro Seats – lightweight shell type – Leather of course

Xenon headlights

Absolutely NO additional electric goodies like rear windows, Sat Nav, climate control etc – they are unnecessary and just add weight.

Colour: Tangerine Orange

Price; around £14,000?

Is this a reality or just wishful thinking?

Be easier just to buy a Seat:) .

Skoda are a bit boring of late.Don't think they are into surprises

Why degrade the brakes ;)

Spoke with my dealer the other day. They confirm the rumours of a special run out blue fabia but thats all he could say. They have had no official info.

Sound to me its just going to be like the Octy WRC edition minus the graphics.
