Adrian Flux Insurance

Featured Replies

Just had my renewal docs through... £130 more than last year despite having more no claims and disclosing my IAM membership mid-way through the year

Done some shopping around and Adrian Flux came in £200 less

The next broker I rang hung up on me stating 'I won't get near that!'

Done some more shopping about and still nothing within £200 so I'm pretty happy with AF - they've even stated that they'll put the read ARB on the policy now at no cost in case I have one fitted in the new year

Can't say fairer than that methinks...

Edit: And they gave me a Brisky discount :D

£200 less !!

They'd be paying me £60 if \I could get that deal! :D

I've just renewed with L.V. With their modification cover, a full write off (own fault) 3 years ago. Came in at under £600 which isn't too bad. You crashes yer car, you takes yer penalty.

Ah, they won't cover them now for new customers. But I've been with them for nigh on 4 years now, so as long as I continue the continuous service with them and don't change my car (yeah, right! :D) I'm still covered. I re-iterated this to the woman when I was paying and she was able to pull up details word for word of comversations I've had with LV to clarify their stance. I would have to pay to get it in writing, but I'm confident they keep good records, so I'm covered for the future. Just must make sure I never change my engine CC. That's the only thing they refuse, to make people stop putting bigger engines in. Thankfully a pd130 is the same cc as a pd100.:thumbup:

To clarify. "modification" to me has been confirmed as "anything except changing the engine CC" - therefore my little pd130 work last year did not matter, as both blocks are 1896cc. I can do anything else to the engine, body, etc and as long as I keep receipts I'm covered. And I also tested this theory when it came to valuing the first fabia that I left on its roof in North Wales.....

Nice one

My understanding with AF is that if the power doesn't change then neither will the premium.

Not sure. Never tried to get a quote from yet. Obviously with LV you can bolt what you like on the engine to make it go quicker. It's nice and pleasing to know my car is still insured as a group 6, albeit with modifying allowed, and it's gone from 100bhp to 220, and still climbing.

Ive 9 points and had a quote for

AF wanted over £200 extra for me to put coilovers on my fabia so even if power does not change they sometimes charge - But they did say that alloys and putting another 10,000 miles on my policy would be free

I used to insure both my cars with AF, for several years (currently old MX5 and 1986 American car), but they were becoming less and less competitive, so now I'm with Stevenage insurance on the Yank tank and (I think) A1 insurance on the Mazda (which is an import). I think in the main you cna insure most things with AF, but all these companies seem to be in different positions as to which risks they specialise with.

I've never been with them for modded cars, although years ago I used to be with Hert's insurance, and they were happy insuring me on tuned up cars (typically about +30% power) and an odd old Beetle based kit car. Didn't matter too much about the specific mods, and costs were okay. Trying to think why I moved away from them, I think it was because they didn't insure LHD's.

I'd shop around quite a bit for modded cars, there will be quite a spread of prices.

Im with AF.. 2nd year now

Renewal was cheapest around, and it was free to put other drivers on the policy too.

Just make sure your excess is what you expect with AF.

When I got quote from them for my old chipped Golf GT tdi 110, they were about
