Id rather have the Astra VXR or SRi Turbo sport hatch! The new 3 door astra is the only Vauxhall I have liked since the Calibra. I have never liked the Corsa , and am not about to start now.

To be fair though its not my cup of tea as id rather have 182 torphy but that little pocket rocket will sell like hot cakes weather you like it or not

I know evo said that it handled well but did you see top gear when clarkson was driving it :eek: thats why i dont think that it will be much cop if the Vectra handles like that

All powerfull FWD cars will understeer like the Vectra VXR on Top Gear, with the TC turned off, your foot to the floor and too high an entrance speed into a corner.

The Vectra VXR is less than a second around the Top Gear track slower than the Focus ST which is regarded as a car with very good handling. Clarkson just likes rubbishing the Vectra I think.

It's clear Clarkson hates all Vauxhall cars. I wouldnt be surprised to see a Mr J. Clarkson on the payroll of Ford Motor Company.

Not quite all Vauxhalls, he liked the VX220 Turbo (lotus) and the Monaro (Holden) OK, maybe he does hate all Vauxhalls! :D I think because he rubbished the MK1 Vectra and got so much publicity out of it he will forever rubbish them.

We all know Mr clarkeson only likes Ferrari, Ford GT40, Aston Martin., etc are we getting his train of thought.

Hates anything that a normal family person can afford & drives.

I think this is one of those you have to drive to see what the torque steer is like.

Interestingly, when Evo tested the Vectra VXR, they found the performance, driving experience and pace on road to be comparable with an Evo and an Imperetza. In real world driving the Vectra would outpace a Focus ST I would imagine. A lot of slagging about the Astra handling and torque steer as well, why do so many people listen to the **** that is Clarkson? Just go drive one and tell me you prefer a Focus with its huge pig iron 5 pot up front. The Astra is sure to be more fun.

As for the new Corsa, think it looks a bit bulky and ungainly, but in VXR guise looks OK. Lets face it, the Fabia is not exactly pretty either. Vauxhall do a decent instructor discount as well. Hmmm:rubchin:
