Hello All!

Featured Replies

Hiya, my name is Becky, and i was sent in the direction of this site by a mate of mine from club GTi called Dean, who lurks but has never joined, don't worry, i am working on him! :D :D

Anyway, i have 2 VW Golf MK2 GTi's, one 8v, which has rear end crash damage and is in the bodyshop waiting to be fixed, so it can be tinkered with for the summer. And i have one 16v, which is my new baby. Under 100k, standard, and in mint condition, yay! :D

The reason i have logged on here is, i have just been given the almighty pleasure of receiving a Fabia V-RS as a company car!! (yes, i fell down dead with shock also!) She's in black and her name is Fabz lol First time i drove it i was kinda like- where you been all my life?? Hehe

I have found the Fabia drives very similar to the mk5 (i think) Polo GTi, which is pretty impressive as i was drooling over one of those for a while, guess thats the VAG engineering for you.

Sadly i am not allowed to mod it or do anything to it, including smoke in it  but definately shouting the Skoda name from the rooftops now, just can't wait to get my hands on the. Octavia V-RS! Like thats gonna happen hehehe.

Do you guys go to any of the shows or track days? As it would be nice to catch up with you and see the Skoda's out in force.

Anyhow, thats enough of my useless ranting now, love the site! and i am now off to play in your VAG forum! :D:D:D:D

Well done on getting lucky with the vRS, im sure you will enjoy it.

If you fancied remapping it there are products which you can use that allow you to swtich it back to standard when ever you need to.

Have a look about the site for more info.

Welcome to Briskoda Becky.

I have just been on the phone to the old owner of Rolf the Golf! Such a small world. There are lots of meets around the country and there is a national meet/trackday coming up in April. See the meets section for more details. Would be good to see you there.

I'm sure you will enjoy your vRS as much as I am and everybody else that owns one seems to! :D They get even better the more mileage you put on them. Mine now has 9000 miles and is better than ever.

If you want more power, but can't mod the car, perhaps you should consider a tuning box. It just plugs into the wiring loom going into the engine ECU. Any probs with the company and you can just remove it and it will leave no trace! ;)

Graeme

PS - I've been asked to find out how the stains on Rolfs seat are??

Welcome Becky !

Welcome to Briskoda

As far as track-days go, can i point you to the orange banner at the top of the page?. Click it, and you'll find details of the upcoming Briskoda National Track Day, where some kind soul might just take you for a run out in one of the many "played with" Skodas that will be there :)

Thank you for the nice welcome everyone! :D

Fab16v, i take it you are an aquaintance of the Chimp then? Small world! LOL Are you from the Dorset area? Oh and as for the stains, 2001 Troubleshooter and a lot of elbow grease got those out, and probably best you don't ask young Daniel where they originated from!!

I shall be clicking the orange banner shortly! Just wondering if its SKODA only? If so then i am just thinking how i can explain to my company why the Fabia might be coming back to work with considerably less tread on the tyres, tape on the lights and rather hot brakes!

It's not Skoda's only, but Briskoda only... oh and a few mates of Briskodians :D

So you are very much welcome to bring whatever car you can lay your hands on... and if happens to be a Noble... can I be the first to bag a passenger ride? ;)

Thank you for the nice welcome everyone! :D

It is the Chimp like one that I am refering to there. ;) I am in Hertfordshire, but pop down quite often to catch up and have the odd drink or 2 (or 10! :P )

As Q has already said, you are quite welcome to bring along the MK2 16v if you don't want to get in trouble with your bosses! :D It is open to Briskodians and a few friends. There are a couple of Scoobies coming along with a 200SX and not sure yet if Ffelan is bring the Octy or te Porsche yet.

Welcome Becky :wavey:

Yep, you are more than welcome at the trackday, whatever car you decide to drive. :D

Graeme, still want a picture of my new engine?

Go on then Jon. So long as it's not photoshopped or an archive picture! :P Don't want any of your underhand tactics here. :D

OK, here ya go:

Yes it is my engine.

Yes it is a SDI ;)

Kind of looks like an SDi. ;) You gonna go for the track weapon then eventually?

Wheres the dipstick? :rubchin:

Wheres the dipstick? :rubchin:

You beat me to it Colin!

Also, that round thing to the left, just above the alternator looks a bit like one of those sound siren thingies. The one that gives you the loud psssssht when changing gears to keep the turbo merrily spinning round  Can't remember the website, but it was mentioned sime time ago for those nova wannabes who like the sound of the turbo but can't afford one! :D

nice looking SDI engine you have there jon ;) can we have a pic of the lovly bodywork

ade

The round thing holds the engine cover on. Thought I'd remove it otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the engine. Forgot to put the dipstick back in for the photo. Give me 5 minutes and I'll take a picture of the back of it for you.

Oooh Bruntingthorpe..... I would love to give that one a try! :D

I will have to check the old finances first though.... :(

It would be a nice place to give my 16v GTi a run as i am yet to let him loose on the track, although i am thinking it may be a bit hairy as i haven't lowered it yet and there is a bit too much body roll for my liking! :thumbdwn:

Me and my other half are looking at doing some airfield days this year, at Hullavington and Keevil, both of which are relatively near to us. Neither of us has experienced these before so if i can't afford to run in april then we may pop along anyway to say hello and sus it out!

BTW, (and i prob will post this elsewhere when i find my way around..lol) Are any of you interested in tracking your cars at Castle Combe?

Castle Combe sounds interesting. ;)

Took my old Fabia round there on the VW driver day a couple of years ago. Would be good to see how the vRS handles the circuit. :D

1'25" in my old one about 18 months ago

If I went now, I reckon I could do it in 2'00" dead :D

Well myself and some friends have a website that organises dedicated track time at all the major events, ie: Trax, Japfest and the CCC days, and it would be nice to have some more members of the VAG elite out there! :D I always seem to be floundering around amongst too many Jap Beasts, grrr!!

I will post something nearer to the dates if anyone is interested, although i expect you will already have beaten me to it! :D:D

Oooh and might i say again, i really do like this site! :D
