Go to a repair centre. They'll fix it on the spot. Takes about 15 minutes to do, and is free.

You cant, you can however download and install windows live mobile messenger, be aware that unless you are using wireless (wifi) use of it over gprs maybe in breach of your mobile contract.

Ok, i worked out how to use it.

You have to go through a 3rd party messaging site. i used yamigo.

It all works perfectly, got all my contacts on the phone and sending/recieveing messages.

I was previously using the on-line version of messenger for mobile, where you had to constantly re-fresh to get any messages!

Its the proper microsoft Live Messenger for S60 devices.. just like the real thing, plus it adds hotmail to your messaging menu.

I'm assuming it's an Orange variant here. Open Orange photography and under one of the options you can disable it. That'll stop it.

Just installed V12 of the firmware. mainly due to lots of System Error! messages on the previous firmware.

It's still a cool device. I can see this being the first phone I want to keep for longer than 12 months!

I'm having a few problems with v12 firmware lately, I'm a very heavy text user, and for some reason recently, it keeps storing blank messages in the drafts folder which it wont let me delete?

Also the buttons are less responsive on v12?

my memory card says its half full but its empty, how strange!

Mike, the memory card has lots of hidden folders on it. The only way to clear it completely is bung it in a SD card adapter and use a pc to reformat the card.

i was thinking that, i have a usb microsd reader i got with my r4 so i might give that a whirl tonight.

Or get a proporta charger.

Pseudofin on the n95users forums got me considering one after extensive use today on the home move front.

And as such it died right when expecting an important call, with no charger :(
