Just to let you know at 7:45 this morning a Parceline courier dropped off our SuperSkoda.com supplied bonnet-lifters !!

So just 4 or 5 working days for delivery, not bad for economy delivery from Czech Republic.

I'll get them sent out today, so all being well expect a nice shiny bonnet-lifter by Wednesday morning (27th June). Sorry GAFF I keep forgetting your "foreign" ;) give it a couple of extra days for AIRMAIL to Ireland.

Good luck with the install, and thanks for all making this GB work.

Expecting my Octy this week.

I was going to wait 'til next month to get full month's tax.

But as it is new dealer can tax for 12months+1 week so any time soon :D

At port awaiting consignment at the moment (so judging by another thread it is probably having an MFD2 prized out of it and a Stream stuck in!)

PS - if you are wondering why the end of your package looks like its had a sticker ripped off the end flaps - it has (so nosey Royal Mail don't know what it is).

(sorry that last sentance sounds distinctly unsavoury for some reason - but read it with a clean mind and it makes sense ;) )

I've covered up the big contents sticker on the front aswell.

Here's hoping you get it this week! Don't forget the pics with/without bonnet lifter :)

Defo - I am taking my camera with me to dealership for handover.

Yes, my reasons are entirely sad, but they will have a serious benefit, as if I see something wrong later I will have piccies to check whether it was already there. (not that I am negative or pessimistic or anything - too many worrying threads  )

Hi Mate,

Just to let you know that I received my lifter today!

:D:thumbup:

GOT MINE - WOOOHOOO (and yes, I am shouting!) :D:thumbup:

That's good news (so far) - I am just scared the Posties might take a shine to one having sent out 9 of them

PS - the extra couple of days while your lifters were in the post, I did this to mine:

After 3 primer coats and 3 top coats, means two things, firstly it will look great, secondly it now has better paint durability than the rest of the car ;)

(and before that it was given a good rub down with wet and dry, then detergent to remove any oils)

15590.attach

15591.attach

nice :)

Bet they tried to deliver mine, but couldn't, so I'll have to wait till the post office is open again tomorrow night to pick it up:(

Paint looks damn good! Is that proper Skoda stuff, or halfords type?

Halfrauds.

However it is VW Black Pearl allegedly (which may be a slightly different to Skoda Black Pearl, or Seat Black Magic etc etc)

But hey-ho, it was cheap and in stock and will look the same with a thin layer of burnt engine on it ;)

Received and fitted today. Brilliant. Many thanks for all your hard work

any pics of it fitted? :)

My two arrived today.

Thanks again Paul

Unfortunately, I have no cars to fit the kits to  :(

Oh well, plenty of prep time :P

Gillywibble you put the rest of us to shame (well perhaps not the ones without our cars yet, but at least we have an excuse!)

Good work!

Excellent Work Gillywibble... thanks for the pics :)

Would it look really bad on a Blue car fitting the kit as is ?

I've been thinkning the same thing... looks like primer and paint for me...

I was wrong, Its here, and waiting for paint......Now off to Halfrauds!

Many thanks again for organising this one! Top Job.

Phil

I've only got as far as taking mine out of the box, not even thought about fitting yet!

Couple of questions:

- Paul - the primer/paint - is that aerosol spray? (I've never painted anything in my life!)

- I've tried compressing the part by hand but can't. I assume that once it's fitted there is more pressure asserted from the leverage of the bonnet?

- Gillywibble - how easy was it to fit?

Very easy - 10 minute job. Make sure you've got someone else there to hold the bonnet for you.

you'll have a hard time compressing the lifter by hand, the pressure inside is outrageous. If you consider the lifter base is secured quite close in relation to the bonnet hinge it needs to exert a huge amount of force to lift the bonnet from there.

I'm going to prime and spray the lifter brackets on Saturday.

Do Halfrauds do a race blue or equivalent spray can?
