The only reason I asked was regarding the 17" alloys, I thought UK Elegance models were still coming with 16" VEGA alloys as standard for the time being regardless of the MY08 cars.

It's listed way up the thread about 17" alloys but the spec varies quite a lot on the continent and the info is from Skoda CZ and may not be entirely applicable to the UK models.

I got my Octavia on Monday and it has 15" alloys and no corner lights. Mine is the 2008 model. I checked it on the oil stop website.

So not sure where the information about the 2008 model is coming from.

Elegance comes with 16" as standard. Classic and Ambiante with 15" if I remember correctly.

Hi Pete. To the best of my knowledge ( and I think it says this in the brochure ) Fog Lamps are only standard on the elegance.

I see that Brilliant Silver Metallic replaces Diamond Silver Metallic as of build week 34 (w/c 20/08/07), on the Skoda website. So is that when 2008MY is to start? What is happening, anything? Are any of the changes actually comingt ot he UK, such as the sliver roof rails as optional, or the cornering loghts? I am waiting to place an order for my lease car and undecided what to at present. Either a 2.0TDi L&K, or VRS, estate- though I like the extra toys on the L&K!

Please does anyone know if any of the upgrades are coming to the UK and if not hwen the 2008 restyle is likley to be in production, I can wait for my car as I am running my own at present and getting an allowance.

I'm pretty sure if you read through the whole of this thread most of the changes are listed.

If you want specific information your best bet is try Skoda UK.

Hi Stu, but so far none of the changes listed seem to have actually happened, and as you will see even the change in silver paint is not as the first poster said. I was just hoping someoen might have found out, Skoda UK had nothing to add.

My 2008 MY combi has just arrived and I note few changes from the 2007 model, but the cornering (fog)lights are optional items in the manual - I haven't noticed them don't anything yet on the car.

So what are the changes Les? I had an S- Max on test drive and its cornering lights only worked when driving slowly and with very tight turns of the wheel with the headlights on, didn't know it had them and the sudden added light when parking was sueful. I am keent oknwo if these are now an option/fitted to some models and what else from the list actually has happened.

Mine is an 08 model and as far as can tell there is very little visible difference. Some of the graphics/fonts are a little updated but not so much that you'd really notice. I didn't order the cornering lights option but then I didn't know it ever existed - and still aint sure if it is an option on the VRS.

Yes according to the manual the operation of the Octavia's cornering lights is identical to the S-Max - I've not triggered them yet, but could be useful with darker evenings on the way...

There is what sounds like a relay clicking when the steering is turned to a lock quickly but that might be something else :P

The wiper stalk graphic has changed as part of the MY08 fettling as well as a few very tiny maxidot changes.

On the Passat, they are only available if you order the optional Xenon headlights, so if Skoda is using the same hardware / ECU software, it might well be only available with Xenons...

I had a good drive around tonight, and I am 99% certain my car, which is 2008MY does not have the cornering lights function. The fog lights have a wide spread, meaning they would be good for this function, but they weren't trigger by a series of 90 degree turns at various speeds. My car has xenons fitted, if that makes any difference.

I notice that there is a relay type noise after a sharp turn of the steering, but that could be something else, like the indicator cancelling.

Anyway sorry to disappoint, but I don't think that cornering lights are fitted in the UK. :(

Picked up my new L&K estate in Black yesterday.

No cornering fog light function.

No auto-dimming side mirrors.

Can the fog fucntion be turned on with VAG-com?

Page 16 of the latest Octavia brochure (effective from 1st May-30th June) states the 08 model year starts on the 28th May 2007.

The latest brochure is effective 1st July to 30th September. I assume a new one will be out on 1st October.

Its been sometime since the MY 2008 was launched .. So what are the actual changes other that the Cruise stalks and Lyra alloys ?
