I only have my Octavia since July but I have yet to hear of anyone with the changes that where listed at the start of this post.

Silver roof rails are an option, indicator and wiper stalks have changed and the 1.8TFSI engine has materialised.

Wondering if this is accurate as it wasnt a seletable option just three weeks ago when i picked mine up. :( This was an option I was very interested in.

Would have paid 6k more for an A4 Avant if id have known I couldnt have silver rails on this car! :P

I recall another forum member talking about silver roof bars, his dealer said they are a factory fitted option. Skoda dealers are known for their hit-and-miss tendancies whn it comes to information on the product they flog .

Either way, I won't lose sleep over my black roof rails although I do have some silver tape in the boot..................

I persued this with the dealer when I ordered my car 10 weeks ago. They said no chance, never heard of the option. It does not exist...

As others have said, some of them are available; equally I don't think the dual sun visors mentioned in the 2007MY changes ever came to the UK either.

I have ordered a new Scoda Octavia Combi (elevated floor such as 4x4) FSI and i am still wondering if i have made the right choice... My worry is a) if this will cause any instability as the the car is regulated for a specific height and whether this height will really makes a difference (its about 23 mm higher than normal estate version) on how it looks...i mean for easthetic purposes...

Also please someone tell me if u have any suggestions for additional features...such as...wind deflectors- does it really makes a difference on the wind noise?

Oh..what is wind screen de-icer ( how does it works on the front wind screen?)

De-icer is normally in a spray bottle that can be used on all windows. It saves scraping the ice off. Avaliable everywhere, I presume.

I forgeot to mention re the 2008 questions. Dealers are now able to order the silver roof bars.

Makes sense - I think the sun visor is colour coded to the interior. Of course, those are the latest 08 colours - although my car has the Onyx interior, I believe my sun visors are ivory or grey (being an 07 car).

Either way - be interested for a guide to the price of one of them (although maybe two which would allow a colour change)...

No in the UK it is not standard.

You can however turn it on using the VAGCOM software.

Also when you indicate and are standing still, the foglamp lights on the side you are indicating. Neat Eh:thumbup:

You need the correct CAN Gateway as well. Been looking in to this myself

I've just taken delivery yesterday of a LK 1.8 tsi estate, and the manual mentions the cornering function. For a simple man, what do I need to do to get this function switched on, what is VAG COM, and if VAG COM is used by the dealer, will they know what to do or be willing to help?

Hi Dan,

The Silver roof bars were physically on the ordering system for Aug 1st 2007. I happened to have my car delivered for that date so I just missed it.

Having seen them on race blue since however, Im pleased I didnt have them. IMO, black is the only colour I'd have them with.

I just missed the option in May (build wk 25).

Not that I wanted them, I prefer my side profile as all black (except the wheels)

If I had an Audi (with chrome window surrounds) then the extra bling would work, but not I think on a Skoda.

Having said that I did see a dropped vRS estate with chromed B14s and silver roof bars and that did look cool.
