2000/W Octavia 1.8SLX Estate, 127,000, Petrol+LPG, just had her MOT and still going strong :)

Hi there,

How many miles ago did you get the lpg conversion done on the skoda? I had it done to my kia rio - now done 60k miles since, no hassle touch wood! (: Jut wondering as thinking of gettin me hands on octavia petrol then to convert to lpg.

Did you have to install flash lube or anything to protect valves or are valves naturally tough enough to withstand the lpg?

Apologies about soo many questions...just keen to do this conversion an BIG fan of skodas!

2004 Mk1 Octavia vRS, owned since new, converted to LPG @ 58K in 2008, now at 112K.

Problems:-

Front right wheel bearing (warranty)

Xenon headlight control unit (warranty - just!)

Coil packs x 3

Cruise Control Stalk (faulty since new but finally replaced at 100K service!)

and a few punctures, always seem to be rear right!

109 was a problem from day one that could have happened, so having to change that relay after so many miles isn't exactly a sign of problems to come :)

as i'm getting a litle bit ipochondriac after reading all the posts i'll clean the turbo this weekend (if my kidnees stop hurting me) and i've realised that had lost the power... so i've changed the maf and it's going almost like new... it stops at 170-180 km/h... since i have another injection pump i thik i'll change the fuel temperature sensor (just to see if change anything)

*cleaned with a cleaning spray the original maf and is back on his place just too see how long it lasts... it's working as new and after replacing the battery with a 100Amp energiser it starts in less than a sec,my baby is back to full power again*

Had an M reg Peugeot 405 GLX 1.9TD, when I got rid of it there was 270,000 miles on it.

Recently saw it in a carpark, looks like a shed now (shame) but it's got 340,000 odd miles on it now, had a word with the owner and he's not had to do anything with it but the A/C isn't working. They don't build them like they used to - I wouldn't go near a new Peugeot these days.

When I had it the head gasket went, a weekend job to put it right, that's basically all that went wrong with it.

My current Octavta vRS has gor 83k miles on it it's an 06, the A/C compressor went on it - replaced and the bushes need replacing and it's going in on Friday
