LV? Not for me :(

Featured Replies

Phoned them this morning to discuss new policy and they quote me

Have you tried Endsleigh, Q? ( http://www.endsleigh.co.uk/ )

I'm pretty sure they came up when I tried one of these "we get quotes from everyone for you" websites, looking for a quote on a modded car...

Trying them now :). Thanks!

Try confused.com - put your details in once and it brings back around 15 company quotes, think this would have to be unmodified but you could then ring the cheapest company and discuss modification increases?

LV quoted 877 this time for me, and 20% APR for paying monthly. Have gone with "morethan" - 640 and 13.7% apr for paying monthly.

confused will let you look for cover for modified cars IIRC...

For the record, Endsleigh's quick quote gave me

Q,

I'm just about to change across to LV. They are a about

And will try more than as well if they do modified cars.

iirc, LV were not the cheapest (but not by much). however, the excess was by far the smallest offered and a major plus for me was that i could guarantee my NCB, rather than just protect it.

their attitude to mods gave me peace of mind.

20% is quite a whack. Direct Line on my policy give you 0% APR at the moment, don't know why though!

Q - save your breath / typing fingers with More Than.

I was with them when I had booked Jabba, and they told me I would HAVE to cancel the policy and get insurance elsewhere. They simply didn't allow any of their policyholders to do any engine tuning, due to being a "low-risk" company... and to be fair they were good to me when I was running as standard... it just went belly-up (like my car in Jan...) when I wanted to mod!

ditto that.

they are NOT interested at all.

its interesting trying out different power level increases. I just played around on the admiral website, for me with a 25% power increase it was about

guess ian has not asked that question.

DL rocketed once I added remap; again for wheels; again for suspension...LV happened to be less than my excess with DL...problem is if they are dam popular they are bound to bump the prices up...seems we need a new sherrif in town.

ps also if your partnered to civi service type folk you may get discounts, also we get discounts with some companys; see discounts link.

I'm trying confused tonight as for some reason their site is blocked at work

:agree:

They're also part of the same group as elephant.co.uk. The site & quote engine is almost identical. Be prepared for a shock when you mention a remap ;)

Well, nothing can touch Mr Flux, not even confused, esure and admiral... Shame they don't insure trackdays, but I wasn't expecting any insurance for that anyway.

I'll dig up a copy of Max Power and see what they got in the back pages as well.

Adrian Flux don't have the best reputation for after-sales (or pre-sales for that matter) service and customer care. I found their reps rude and offhand, although I did insure with them for one year. The next year found me transferring away - for a substantial reduction in premium, and much friendlier people.

One of my sons has left Adrian Flux to return to Greenlight and the other will be doing similarly soon. Adrian Flux had a wonderful breakdown policy for members last year (with the AA, iirc) which the AA would not honour when my younger son's clutch failed. Somewhere along the line Adrian Flux had changed breakdown insurers which meant that some (maybe all) existing breakdown policy holders were left without any cover - but wouldn't find out until they called for assistance. My son had his breakdown premium refunded. He has recently changed cars and went from TPFT cover to fully comp which involved a hike in premium - but the amended cover note still had TPFT for the cover. You also need to be aware that Adrian Flux charge

i was with adrian flux on my golf, seemed ok, paperwork was a problem. either had none or you got ten copies thru the post. my renewal went up for the 2nd year so i moved on.

Thanks for the comments on Flux though, I shall certainly keep that in mind. Fortunately I have been driving 3 years without claims and hope to add another year to it...
