Just to upset you all we managed to get on the ferry 2hrs earlier at 1800hrs :D

Although we did leave Prague at 0545 :o

I was at 1800hrs czech in but to late for that ferry , left Prague at 0745 ,and lost 1 hour in Germany because of a traffic jam:mad:

Arrived home today at 1030 , after driving my wife streight at work-school

Got back to my own bed at 2am. :) Minor drama on the M4 as the alternator finally packed in on the felicia and the lights got dimmer, dimmer, then GONE. A quick battery swap with my car got it going again and I gave it back their charged up battery at Exeter. :) I slept like a log until my alarm this morning - Did NOT want to get up at all.... Was glad to make it on the 20:00 ferry. We were going "quite quick" down through France and ended up joining the end of the Q as it was driving on. Gilly was even later.

Great trip. Initial thoughts for me are:

1) Thanks to Steve for prep work. Much appreciated. The instructions for the route came in handy even with my tomtom leading the way.

2) Hotel was nice. It was a good place to sleep, had some good grub for breakfast and did the job. Shame about parking, but the brown stuff happens. Not to worry. :)

3) Prague is beautiful. Especially in mid 20s C, and a cloudless sky. I walked past where we stayed last year and kicked myself we were so close to all the lovely stuff but never saw any apart from behind the steering wheel.

4) GREAT 6 days!

Here's my assessment for next year. ;)

I would say "organising" should go no further than finding a good hotel, good parking - and sorting out things like the Skoda factory tour and the Doksy show. :) I really think it worked well when everyone DIY'd. Meals, tours, etc should be left to individuals / smaller groups to instigate and organise themselves. This has the benefit that everyone does what they want, and less pressure on the organiser (which was really telling on you on the trip, Steve :P ;))

I guess I was last home (about half an hour ago), but I did stop overnight at fofos, and wasn't too keen on getting up this morning!

Almost sure the last home will be darrenvrs - he

if you doing a czech trip for next year (hint hint) then could some dates be put up soon as september is just as hard to take time off of as is july and august so i nned to book early (if the price is right);)

been home about 2 hours, cheers Steve for everything ;), thanks to all who donated car keys on the airfield  and to Col for organising/ donating the equipment allowing me to loose my ring cherry :D

Just got home now....

2550 miles, 43h driving, 43.9mpg avg over the entire trip (inc airfield and laps of the ring) :D

and to Col for organising/ donating the equipment allowing me to loose my ring cherry :D

Oooh, er. Must have been a lot of things going on, then
