I'll bring a spare bottle for him too then. :D UV factor 4 is fairly high so will need to be careful. We're probably outside on the saturday for most of the day. :)

PS: Am I the only one bringing a dyno plot to stick on my bonnet. :o No need to translate as it speaks the univeral language of max BHP.

  Sorry to dissapoint, but in Euroland, they use KW rather than BHP. 140bhp is seen as 103kw. (although if you say it as ps/pfeiderstraken (?) they will probably get you) (Also anyone with a newish Nokia will be able to convert it for you)

They also use "PS" which is pretty close to BHP - about 2% less I think. :)

Getting a BIT excited now. Gonna leave work at 1 now, so have plenty of time to finish packing and getting the car sorted. Only thing left with her is top up the washer fluid rezzy.

setting off soon :)

I have a question before start packing:do czech bouncers allowed people wearing trainers in pubs , restaurants? or do I need casual wearing?

jeans are fine ;)

 I'm leaving work in under 4 hours. I can look forward to that. Also have a plug convertor kit now, with 2 pin plugs - 1 with flat pins, 1 with round (IIRC round is the right one? )

Just need to pack a toolbag as well. We might be the roadtrip mechanical support team. ;)

Round is the right one, flat one is for US and other fun places like that

last bit of packing, cuppa coffee, walk the dog then we're on our travels..see you all soon, take care :)

You can see how I put that yellow sunstrip to good use. ;)

Just a last minute warning - I'm going through the lat and long coords Steve posted in the first posts and the Czech map of tomtom on my pda seems to have it all wrong

Not by much, but punching in them takes me a few clicks off true. Of course, I don't know if tomtom is right and the coords are wrong, but punching Steve's coords into google gives the exact location, so I'd hazard a guess tomtom is wrong  :thumbdwn:

edit: Jason, I seem to remember you saying / typing that you had the Czech maps for tomtom. If you have a minute, care to try? (which version of tomtom btw? I'm on 6)

edit 2: appears to be finger trouble with tomtom. :o Don't try and decimal points for seconds - just put in for example 50

Check the setup menus on the TomTom and see what coordinate system it uses. Steve's if they are from a GPS are probably WGS84. See if you can alter your TomTom to use that, then plug in the values again. Alternatively if Steve is reading this, perhaps you could confirm what coordinate system you were set up for when you pulled out the lat longs?

Col's got the satnav plumbed in for the hotel - using the address apparently.

My tomtom is a 700, and I've no idea how to check anything on it, or even how to get the eastern EU maps up, and navigate on them - only used postcode search within GB at the moment.... :o

I will be printing off the co-ordinates soon if that's needed for tomtom navigation.... Edit: Have done, and will have a play when I get home. Will let people know how I get on - Much of the time will probably be just trying to navigate the damn tomtom.

The day finally has come.Yepeeeeeeeee!

Hope sea won`t be rough crossing the channel...

I have about 30mins to print out Directions or I'm a bit screwed

I can't find the Co ordinates of the first meeting in Aachen in google

Does anyone have the old method of place and road names for these places?

and there is 2 places in Czech called Doksy

First Compulsory Stop near Aachen

Latitude: 50

Will - It's the Doksy with all the lakes around it - if in doubt. And the co-ordinates work if you copy/paste them into google maps, and just delete the "Longitude:" bit. I also have the full address for the hotel, the skoda musem, and to some hotel in Doksy to check going the right way for the show on Saturday - couldn't find an address for that woods.

Steve's route link in the first post takes you to a Michelin guide page with good directions, Will.

ah ha I have the coordinates working now Cheers Jason

the co-ordinates work if you copy/paste them into google maps, and just delete the "Longitude:" bit.

You need to delete both the words "Latitude:" and "Longitude:"

so:

Aachen

CZ border

Hotel Mars

Factory

Airfield

Doksy

That help at all?

All sorted now  cheers Jason and Nick :D

I've got my Czech map working. Thanks for all your replies :finger: :P

Aha! Thanks for the reminder. I need to bring my tomtom inside and see if I can get the co-ordinates thing to work. :D

Just got back from having the 80k (well 84k:D ) service @ JKM and as always they were great

Two new tyres fitted by the boys at Denmead tyres and now I'm off to wash the car and apply the last of my stickers ;):D
