.............that is the question?

Over the past few months I have managed to collect quite an array of various car associated stickers which I was intending on plastering over my car for the upcoming road trip to Czech but I'm now wavering due to the 'tacky' element associated with it so I thought I'd open it up to a poll and see what the concesus is. All stickers are silver or a shade of light grey so no coloured ones (on a black car)

So what's the verdict, cool or tatt?

What has Jason got planned?

If some of his recent vague postings are anything to go by, I suspect anything would look cool next to some of his ideas ;)

give them away... " briskoda.net " only... you know it makes sense... :D

depends on what you have got in mind

Stickers look OK but you are a magnet for the Plod, thats the only down side, depends really if you want a spirited drive !!

I think you should choose wisely, the right ones look well :) , but wrong ones in the wrong places do take from the car.

Tatt,

however if you do decide to do it as a temporary thing, suggest heavily waxing the area you want them on - don't polish off the wax - apply stickers then buff off wax.

That way the stickers are stuck to a thick layer of wax, not your paint, so they should be easier to get off when you get home:)

Sounds like a good idea.

Stickers would look cool on a trip but tacky after :)

dunno depends what the stickers are and how plastered the car looks in them. a mate of mine with a suburu has it stickered and looks quite cool, just guess its really down to the design and how many you wanna plaster it with.

If you're going on an international trip then why not advertise?

It'll be just like Gumball.

please remember to take them off when you get home though.:o

Got any pics? Its hard to make a decision without pics as some may be more suitable/subtle than others!

I agree with Stuart that if you intend to be moving and a reasonable speed at any time then you will draw attention to yourself.

If you are intending to have a nice gentle tour to CZ then maybe it'll look ok.

a nice gentle tour to CZ

 I can't think of anywhere I have been with Steve that has been a nice gentle drive.

As for the stickers though, if they were part of a sponsorship for charity then that would be a worthy addition. Any other stickers would probably just say stop me in big letters and spoil the trip.

Oh well, the felicia is going to be like a magnet - but it has the advantage of being just a 1.3, so "spirited" will not come in to the equation!

Why not stick every sticker you have on the car you have at the moment? When you pick up the new one you can have a think about what stickers look good and what make it look naff. ;)

Totally Agree.

By a majority verdict I've decided to go for it, don't say I did'nt warn you when I turn up at port :o

I've even ordered some Viper stripes (I don't know if I've got the nerve to fit 'em though!)

Good coat of wax before you put them on aids removal

If you are tempted to put anything that looks like race numbers on the car remember its tecnically illegal to run with them in the UK & its like red rag to a bull with some of our continental enforcers of the law, In Germany it virtually guarantees a tug.

Personally I think youve done the right thing, just have a few Euros in your back pocket as it will raise your profile & might help you get a speeding certificate, thats if you speed of course

I've heard a few people say that race numbers are not road legal. For a race number to be a race number does it have to be in a box or something? I was worried about having trouble with my car having numbers on the doors but have never been stopped in the time I have owned it (which includes three trips to the ring).

Maybe it's ok because it says "years of motorsport" under the 100?

Oh you know me... Am a sucker for stuckers ;)

Viper stripes:eek:

Oh go on. Will some of them be on for Trax?

Im guessing thats just Grafics, it certainly dosent look to me like competition numbers.

If you see street legal race cars & rally cars on the road going to or from meets they often have a line of tape or a cross over the numbers, that I believe technically again stops it being a race number, you often see it on older & historic cars, its all to do with not being allowed to race or appear to be racing on the highway as I understand it. Certainly on the cannoballs most people taped across their numbers in the UK

IIRC competiton numbers need to have a cross through them to make them road legal ;)

Welcome to the club!! ;)

Steve? Can I be fairly confident you'll be even more stickered up than me for the trip?

And I did something extraordinary yesterday! I TOOK OFF 4 stickers. :o

I want viper stripes too. :o
